"There is hope, even when your brain tell's you there isn't." -John Green
Part 1.
The world has always been a strange place in the eyes of Izuku Midoriya. He had seen the best of it and the worst of it by a very young age. The world, to him and many like him, was truly one where men were not born equal. Not by any means.
But the world had a greater destiny set out for the young green haired teen. Due to his action to save his classmate, something that he would do without a power, he was recognized by his idol, All Might. With a body that moved on its own and the heart of a hero burning within him, the greatest hero of his generation would bless Izuku with both the power and responsibility of his quirk, One For All.
This was his destiny, the once quirkless and bullied youth would become the successor of All Might. He would break the glass ceiling put above him and go beyond with a smile on his face, saving many people along the way.
But all of that was about a year ago, and now faced a new reality, the smile Izuku once had and hope for the future within him had been forgotten in favor of a stoic face and a heavy heart.
Many died as result of his failure and the failure of the heroes in the Parnormal Liberation war not too long ago, and as a result, the hope the civilians once had in their protectors had vanished just like their number one hero All Might. They knew not what had happened, but knew many had died as a result of the failures of the heroes, their heroes.
Izuku clenched his fists in anger and self pity as he walked along the rooftops of where he patrolled, his ripped and torn mask covering his dirty and scarred face. His footsteps were heavy, tired, and mimicked the rain that slammed onto the roof around him. He was exhautsed, very much so, but he couldn't rest. He wouldn't, so neither should-
'Ninth, please, you really should-'
'-Rest, otherwise you'll run out of energy, and-'
'-You'll die at the hands of a villain or-'
'All FOR ONE'
"No." Izuku muttered coldly under his breath, closing his eyes and shaking his head as the voice of one of the previous users of One For All vanished into the ether of the quirks mindscape. He would be fine, he didn't need to be babied anymore.
Not by them, not by All Might, not by anyone.
Opening his eyes once more and being greeted with the dark and gloomy world around him brought a sigh out of the teens mouth, then before he could gather his bearings any further, an explosion rocked the area.
Then, not more than a moment later, Izuku took off towards it with only a trace of green electricity where he once stood.

It didn't take long for the successor to All Might to reach the source of his attention, that being a female villain who held some sort of staff. As the masked vigilante leapt off of a building and landed using Float, he quickly approached her. Once in eyesight, the villain heard his approach and turned to face him.
It was then that the villain struck a pose very much reminiscent of an action hero from some of those American comics Izuku had read when he was younger, the ones with the tight spandex, shark repellent, and terrible puns. Internally Izuku cringed at what was to come, but he kept his mind clear for the fight.
"You there! You must be the famous yet infamous hero Deku!" She boisterously proclaimed and twirled her staff in flamboyant fashion, something that might have amused a villain like Mr. Compress, but not Izuku.
