The horror in the halls

The Round up

As we made our venture downstairs trying to be as quiet as possible to not attract unnecessary attention to ourselves, going down the stairs near the intermediate hallway we all shuffled and practically ran to the gender neutral washroom.

When we reached the door immediately banging on it for entry, Bo opens the door and hurries us all inside and locks it behind us. We all share a moment of silence unsure of how to go forward, Dakota eventually speaking up "So..where's Sophie?" no one says a word to what he spoke. I eventually speak up "We don't exactly know where she is, it looked like Mrs.Methead wrapped her in some sort of..cocoon? Jess sent a photo in the group chat." 

Dakota pulls out his phone to look at the photo as we all continue to just stand in the bathroom, Jess speaks up saying "You know you don't die just from being wrapped up in a cocoon, at least not at first." Kaia then says "So Sophie could still be alive somewhere in the school." Bo adds in "You know guys, when I was running from Mr.Taco I noticed a lot of cocoons in the library, maybe Micah was taken there?"

I then say "Alright well lets say Sophie is alive, we shouldn't just leave her for dead we should try to rescue her from whatever they're doing with all those kids in cocoons." And then there is another moment of silence because.. how exactly would we do that? Ash then says "Okaay guys well maybe lets think of some things we could use so we maybe don't die?"So we all start to  brainstorm a couple weapons that we would be able to find around the school to help us get Sophie back.

Now it was time to start our plan of action, We all agreed it would be best to go and get the locks and wet floor signs for armour first, because at the moment we have no forms of defence or protection. I had suggested maybe going in teams to get the items faster but Kaia had mentioned that splitting up was a bad idea and there is strength in numbers, so we all decided to go up to Ash and Jess's locker together.

We all exit the gender neutral bathroom and start to make our way away from the library and towards the stairs where the intermediate's go outside, being very mindful of who could be lurking around the school. The air feels heavy and humid as we walk up the stairs, trying to make our foot steps as silent as possible.

We get to the top of the steps and Dakota checks down the hallways to see if any teachers are patrolling, once he gives the thumbs up we all file out into the hallway and make our way to Ashes locker, Ash starts to unlock their locker and same with Jess. We weren't giggling and having fun like we were before, everyone feeling on edge at the sudden shift in seriousness at the situation. 

As Ash put their locks into their bag grabbing as many as they could, one happened to fall onto the ground making a loud clack on the floor. Shit. We quickly grabbed the wet floor signs and as we went to turn around to go back to the stairs we freeze in our tracks.

Standing in front of us was not the Mr.Apples we knew, his face broken out into grotesque red blobs, in fact all of his body had weird almost apple shaped growths protruding from his clothing. Mr.Apples then starts to speak in a muffled grogily voice "Heeeyyy frieendds....i think its class time..." 

Jess gags while the rest of the group screams, Bo exclaims "WHAT THE FUCK SEND THAT THING TO THE GAS CHAMBER!" to that Mr.Apples growths begin to swell as he yells "You do not talk to a teacher that way!" 

I take a handful of locks from Ash's bag and whip them at Mr.Apples while yelling "RUN!" we all quickly book it down to the other side of the hallway, Mr.Apples running towards us and gaining fast, Bo yells at us to duck into the only classroom with it's door open, Mr.Medds class.

We enter the room and slam the door behind us, quickly blocking the door with desks, Mr.Apples reaches the door and starts banging, but ultimately gives up and walks away to find more students roaming. All of us enjoy the moment of relief until we hear a shuffle from the other side of the classroom. I feel my stomach drop, please not another crazy mutated teacher.

We all walk up to the teachers desk and the source of the noise to find Mr.Medd huddled up in the corner clutching the knife he keeps in his classroom, Bo then says "Oh hey Mr.Medd what's up! Why are you in the corner?" There is a sigh that comes from him and as he stands up he says "Wow you guys scared me! I honestly don't know whats going on but one minute it was class as usual and now all of the staff has..turned demented..I was in the corner because Mr.Taco had come by and tried to convert me to whatever made them turn into the monsters they've become. I said no and he said he would be back, I didn't know what else to do" 

Bo then invites him to team up with us which he happily accepts, and so we catch Mr.Medd up on the events that have happened so far. With him being up to speed on the Sophie rescue plan he then suggest something for our weapons list "You know i can still go into the staff room, to get some knifes for everyone to have on top of the other weapons" We all agree that is a good idea and add it to the list.

From his classroom we decided to continue down the hallway once the coast was clear and make our way to the staff room and cafe, continuing to the stairs across from the girls big washroom and going down them as quick as possible. As Mr.Medd went to the staff room to get the knives we went to the cafe to get the rock hard cookies, agreeing to meet at the coke machine as soon as we are done.

The 6 of us continue walking and go through the foyer door into the cafe, its very musty in the hallway into the cafe smelling of mildew and expired milk. As we see the cookies in front of us we quickly run and grab them and get the hell out of there, best not to run into the lunch ladies and learn what they mutated into..

We run around to the coke machine to see Mr.Medd waiting there with a handful of knives in his hands, we all make our way back up to his classroom it being strangely quiet in the halls now that the sun is setting. We are all able to make it into Mr.Medds classroom with no issues and barricade the door again.

Once we are back and settled I then say "Well that went as good as it could have, it's getting kinda late though." The light outside quickly disappearing, Ash then says "Why don't we get a couple hours of rest and during the night when the teachers aren't so alert we go get Sophie?" All of us quickly agreeing that was the best plan, so we all setup make shift beds and set alarms. We will save Sophie tonight.
