You roll your shoulders back and tilt your head from side to side to crack your neck before you step out of the barracks and make your way to the training area at the base. Taking a deep breath you jog over to where you're supposed to meet the other recruits and your commanding officers.

Keegan had mentioned to all of you that there would be someone there helping train in hand to hand combat or anything else that they deemed necessary for everyone to be trained in. He didn't exactly tell you who though.

You come to a stop just as the others begin to file into formation, some of them eyeing you but you pay no attention to it as you stand at attention. Hands at your sides but your own eyes clocking where Keegan stands before he starts speaking. You look away out of respect and from being trained to not make eye contact unless spoken directly to.

He steps in front of the group and begins to explain, "Today platoon, you're meeting one of th' best. He's here all the way from the UK and he's not gonna go easy on you."

Keegan moves to the side a bit and a man with a balaclava similar to Keegan's but with a full rendering of a skull on it while he has a hardened piece covering all but his eyes and bottom of it.

"The name's Ghost." The very clearly seasoned SAS operative, said as he took charge of the recruits' hand-to-hand combat training.

You stood at attention still, Ghost's steely gaze scanned the group before landing on you.

"You, with me." He barked, gesturing for you to step forward. The other recruits exchanged glances, some smirking, aware that Ghost's training sessions were known for being rigorous. You'd all heard about him and his skills and the way that the United Kingdom trains their soldiers more like weapons than people. "The rest of you, at ease."

He gives the others an order to relax and they do, releasing a sigh of relief.

As you approached Ghost, you could feel the weight of Keegan's gaze on you from the sidelines, though the others remained oblivious to your connection to him.

Ghost began circling you, his eyes assessing your stance and readiness.

"Alright, let's see what you're made of." He said, a wry grin playing on his face behind the mask. You could tell from the way the mask moved exactly what he was thinking. He's gonna annihilate me...

The first round of sparring was intense, Ghost showcasing his expert combat skills as he deftly countered each of your strikes. Every time you stepped towards him, he took a step back but would rotate and counter strike, hitting you in the side lightly as he explained your mistake to both you and the others surrounding the makeshift training ring. The other recruits, eager for a bit of entertainment, exchanged whispers and smirks.

Keegan watched, a mixture of pride and concern etched on his face. He knew if this was a real fight, in a real mission, you wouldn't be ready and you'd have your ass kicked. With a shake of his head he started to focus on what some of the recruits started saying, hearing your name come from their lips. He crosses his arms and steps a bit closer to hear better so he can put a stop to it if it goes too far.

"Remember, it's not just about strength. Use your agility, stay on your toes," Ghost instructed you, his voice firm. He corrected your form, guiding you through some of the movements he had used on you so you could try them on him.

"Hey, Y/n, is that so called boyfriend of yours real? Or did you make him up for attention?" One of the recruits teased, trying to distract you but also taking his chance to try to bring you down. Or to flirt with you, you couldn't tell.

Ignoring the comment, you focused on Ghost's instructions, determined to prove yourself. However, the questions about your boyfriend continued to circulate among the recruits, their whispers growing louder with each passing moment. You start to hear them more and more, your mind starting to focus on them by accident.
