The Avengers

Section 1

The cold night was silent, then a giant wave of blue light and an earthquake rippled as a black SUV drove in the rain covered darkness towards the military compound that was the source of the disturbance. The vehicle quickly came to a stop and the bald, black, one eyed man with a full black goatee named Nick Fury exited and walked towards the entrance to the military base, talking fast with the blond haired, brown eyed, Clint Barton. "Is it stable?" Fury asked his soldier who looked at him and responded, "No way is this thing stable, but listen ask Selvig not me." The two soldiers entered the main area of the compound and saw the old scientist, Dr. Eric Selvig standing there with a white shirt and jeans. "Director, this thing isn't stable because there's something on the other side who wants in," Selvig said to Fury as around twelve armed soldiers ran towards the portal device in the middle of the room and aimed assault rifles at it. A month ago, they had recovered a glowing blue cube known as the Tesseract from the bottom of the Atlantic and placed it here for different experiments and tests. The Tesseract then shot a glowing blue light at the portal and started creating a gateway to another dimension. "What the hell is going on?" The dark brown haired agent Phil Coulson asked as he aimed his gun at the portal. Dr. Selvig looked at the portal and hid behind cover as he said, "Someone is coming through!" The portal opened and someone stepped through it.

Everyone watched with guns drawn as a figure wearing a mixture of mostly black with green and gold who had long straight black hair and blue eyes walked through the portal caring a golden scepter with a blue gem in it. "Sir, please put down the spear," Nick Fury asked the strange looking person who was standing there smiling. This person responded, "Oh, I don't think I will." and then Eric Selvig peeked up and saw the familiar face. "Y-you're Loki! Brother of Thor," Selvig said, looking at the man that almost killed Thor Odinson a year ago when he had crashed to Earth. Loki responded to this comment saying, "How right you are. I am Loki, God of Mischief and rightful king of Asgard!" The god looked around the room and shot a bolt of blue light at a soldier, blowing him up. As soldiers opened fire, he fired more bolts, and threw knives into the armed soldiers until the room consisted of him, Nick Fury, Agent Coulson, Agent Barton, and Dr. Selvig. "Now I will be taking the Tesseract and going," Loki said, moving towards the blue cube. "Not unless you pry it from my cold dead hands!" Selvig told the trickster god as he grabbed a military combat knife and prepared to guard the Tesseract. "Very well," Loki replied as he threw a dagger into Eric Selvig's chest, dropping the old man to the floor with blood trickling down his white shirt. "NO!" Fury yelled, shooting at Loki. The Asgardian just dodged the attack and grabbed Barton. Loki said to Clint, "You have heart." and then he put the silver tip of the scepter onto Agent Barton's chest and the soldier's veins started glowing blue all the way up his neck and into his now glowing eyes. Barton looked at Coulson and Fury and said, "Sorry about this director." then he pulled out a pistol and shot Nick Fury and Phil Coulson in the chest. Loki grabbed the Tesseract and told Barton, "Take this to a secure location and then wait for my command."

Loki walked over to Selvig who said, "Thor will stop you, I know he will-" The doctor was cut off by Loki ripping the dagger out and putting it into the man's throat. The God of Mischief exited the building, mind controlling any guard that got in his way. Fury got up and looked down at his bullet vest then he said, "Damn I was lucky." The Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. then ran over to Coulson and checked his pulse. "Did we get him?" The still breathing Agent Coulson asked his boss. "We will, I promise," Fury said as he lifted Phil to his feet, "But first, we'll need to get the team ready."
