It was raining outside, clouds thundering like never seen before, Parker came out of his office with his bag over his head trying to block some rain, which was kind of stupid but what can one say in a weather like that? He rushed towards his car and got in before driving towards his home.

The way was not easy, since heavy rain was pouring, and the visibility on the road was negligible but nevertheless, he was to reach home since Dalton would be waiting, there had been peace since the day both of them went to visit Micah's grave but it was all external, Parker still had a storm in him that was destroying him internally, the storm of revenge and most of it, he was not ready to show this to anyone. He pretended that he was in peace but all this time the story was entirely different.

It was ironic that there was a storm raging outside just like the one inside of him, he was so much in his thoughts that he didn't see a kid bump up in his car, he was surprised since his speed was slow which could barely hit an insect let alone a kid, or so it appeared at that time.

He got outside instantaneously, "Hey, you okay kid?" he asked but there was no answer since he had fainted. He looked around to see if anyone was there with him but there was no single soul to be seen. "Looks like there's no other choice," he said as he picked the boy in his arm before placing him in the back seat of his car.

Once inside his car, he immediately called 9-1-1.

"9-1-1, what's your emergency?"

"Yes, there's a kid who has fainted, can you please send someone to check on him?"

"Sir, our resources are spread thin due to the current storm, If it is not serious, then I would request you to please take care of him until help arrives"

"All right, I'll try." He said as the phone was disconnected after taking the address from him. His mind was racing toward multiple scenarios about the fact that was it safe to have a stranger in the house. In the end, he decided to take him to his home and see what happens.

While driving he couldn't help but notice how strange the boy's clothes were, they were rugged and somewhat torn from various sides, he also had a lot of dirt on them like he was walking for a long time in the weather. He also weighed nothing, he seemed to be undernourished for some reason.

Upon reaching home, he took him inside and placed him on the sofa in the living room. "Who's he?" asked Dalton while Parker was placing the boy on the sofa, adjusting cushions so that he could be laid down comfortably. "I don't know, he fainted while I was driving" Parker explained.

"Did you run him over?"

"No, shut up and bring me some clean clothes."

"Who's cause mine or yours won't fit him."

He hesitated before saying "Bring Micah's clothes."

Dalton understood and rushed to his room, while in the living room, the story was different Parker took off the boy's shirt and pants as leaving him in those would just make him sick even further. He was thunderstruck by what he saw, the boy's chest was entirely filled with red and blue bruises, and his ankles were showing marks of something tight wrapped on them. He didn't know what to do now. Dalton came down with clothes making him come out of his thoughts. "Holy S***, what the hell happened to him?" that's what came out of Dalton's mouth as he saw all those things.

"I don't know, quick help me dress him up." He said because the weather outside was not getting better and he also got an emergency alert on his phone regarding the weather and how the police services would be delayed. He tried calling 9-1-1 to report them about this but his calls never went through. His hands were tied as he couldn't do anything. The boy was dressed up in Micah's clothes and all they were doing was looking at him and thinking what could have possibly happened.

It was until then that the boy's eyes opened wide. He got up and looked around and saw two strange men around him, frightened for the least. "Please don't send me back to them" he begged as tears rolled down his face and his body was shivering.

The brothers were trying to comprehend what had happened, why was the boy in front of them acting like that? Why was he scared of them? And mostly who was he scared of?

"Hey kid, no one is going to hurt you" Parker said in a soothing voice.

The boy got scared even further and pulled out his knees to his chest whilst still trembling with fear, shaking his head constantly and it was almost heartbreaking to see him in that state. Dalton stood silent since he didn't know what to do in situations like that.

"No, NO" that's what he kept on mumbling. Parker stood up and the boy flinched at his action, Parker cautiously moved to him. "Look I don't know what happened. But you are safe here, okay." He tried to assure the boy. The boy looked at him with fearful eyes, he nodded softly since he had no other option but to agree with him.

"Can you tell me your name?" Parker asked cautiously so that the boy wouldn't be threatened, "Mikey" that's what came out of his mouth.

"Okay Mikey, do you want to eat something since you look hungry?" he asked.

He nodded. Parker got up and made him a sandwich that he ate quickly like he was hungry for months. Parker was trying to make small talk with him so that he can bring Mikey to trust him. He was asking how the sandwich tasted. Did he like rain? And things like that and somehow the boy seems to be opening up bit by bit but it was too soon to say anything since the storm hadn't passed yet.

Meanwhile outside.

A man stood in a mysterious hood a few meters away from Parker's house, his clothes drenched with water, holding on to a gun, "The boy has been found." He spoke in his hoarse voice before making his way to Parker's house and knocking on the door. The man appeared to be a giant or so one could say at the first glance, with a motive known only to him.

Upon hearing the door, Mikey flinched and the boy's face was devoured by fear. "Don't open the door please." He said as the brothers exchanged glances of confusion.
