The next morning I woke up early and got ready for school before anyone could wake up, or so I thought
Turns out Carter is an early bird too
He was standing in the kitchen wearing loose pajama pants and a tank top."Oh, Yara, I didn't think you'd be up so early" He said as he stirred some oats in a pot
"Couldn't sleep last night actually" I replied taking a seat on the counter
"Coffee?" Carter asked pouring himself a cup
"Sure" He handed me the warm cup before leaning next to me on the counter
"Yara...I know this must be a new experience for you obviously, and it's never easy with all these boys in one house, but I want you to come to me if ever you need to talk, or if something bothers you okay?"
I was impressed, Carter seemed very nurturing and almost like the second dad of the house.
Carter and I chatted for a bit before I heard footsteps behind me
"Cody! Good morning, ready for practice I see" Carter greeted before I could turn
When I did it was the same blonde boy from the bathroom last night... the one with the awesome abs
Our eyes locked and we were both shell shocked
"- you didn't get to meet our sister yesterday, but Yara this is Cody, the 4th eldest in our family- what's wrong?"
Carter noticed the tension between us"Nice to meet you" Cody said abruptly trying to defuse the situation
"You too" I replied pretending like he didn't think I was some whore last night
"You two set the table please, I have to go get dressed and get the other boys up" with that Carter left towards the living room
Cody and I avoided looking at eachother as we set the plates and cups
I felt like I had lost count of how many brothers I have now...
I've had more interactions with boys in the past three days than I have in 17 years
"Ahem" Cody cleared his throat
"So...""...so" I replied keeping my eyes on the silverware
"I'm gonna go now-" He began
"Morning Yara!" A high pitched voice came to save me from behind
"Hi Alex" I greeted as he hugged my leg
"Are you gonna have breakfast with us Cody?" He asked excitedly
Cody had a perplexed look on his face
"Not today okay I have practice-"
"but Cody!"
"You should stay Cody, what's the rush?" The twins walked in pulling out their chairs and having a seat
"Morning Yara"
"Morning Ethan, Morning Aiden" I greeted
"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day" Aiden said to Cody as he fixed his glasses
"Ugh whatever!" Cody dumped his sports bag on the floor and took a seat next to Aidan who was too busy fixing his silky silver hair
"Yay!" Alex exclaimed sitting next to Cody
"Yara you sit next to me" Alex gestured cutely"ofcourse I will" I smiled at him
Carter walked down the stairs in a black tight fitting suit and his hair neatly groomed.
