"Break up with him now. You're too young to be dating."

"But mom-"

"Break up."

giving your mom one last pleading look, you ran into your room, gently shutting the door behind you before slinking down the wall sobbing. you opened up messages and texted your boyfriend

czn:
are you ok rn?
did ur dad do anything to u ?

jeno:
he told me to break up
but nothing else, im fine
hbu are u ok?

czn:
same
are you going to break up with me?

jeno:
hell no i like u way too much to do that
we'll get through this together

czn:
i like you so much

jeno:
i like u too 👿
we'll go private ok?

czn:
that seems like the only way

through the last year of middle school, the both of you pretended to be ex lovers in front of classmates and teachers, but you could always catch him staring at you in class, love in his eyes. the same could also be said for you, he would smile teasingly everytime he caught you staring

your academic efforts allowed the both of you to get into the same high school, you weren't in the same class, but you could always see each other during breaks. he would come to your classroom and sneak you some treats, and you would sneak him a kiss on the cheek before and after school. 

the two of you lasted til university without anyone finding out, but this time, jeno was acting a bit weird. 

"hey, babe, let's go eat at that chinese restaurant you always wanted to go to!"

he ignored you and didn't speak for around 5 minutes.

finally he spoke. 

"who was that guy? other students are saying how cute you guys look together." jeno demanded, his face an ugly color, blinded by jealousy.

"which guy? oh. oh...no jeno, listen-"

"i don't want to listen!" he said with anger.

"i told you to-"

"if you like that guy so much, why don't you be with him."

"now you're just being unlogical jeno!" you yelled, "the only guy i've ever liked is you, so i dont know WHAT you're on right now, i can't believe you'd believe those people and NOT ME." 

you ran off, leaving jeno stunned and angry on the spot. 

you ran all the way home, angered by jeno's reaction, when you recieved a text from him. 

jeno:
come downstairs.

you walked slowly downstairs, still angry, but also scared of what he might do. 

jeno was there, standing in the cold, holding a big bouquet of flowers and your favorite snacks. 

"i'm sorry, i shouldn't have gotten that mad, i- i was scared you didn't want me anymore after all these years."

you pulled him into a hug, patting his back, "jeno, i love you, and i will never leave you ok? please don't think that way."

jeno nodded, and he pulled back, handing you the flowers and snacks, his eyes teary, looking like a puppy that just got scolded. 

you laughed at his cute face and pecked him on the lips. it was your first time doing that after all these years and his eyes widened. 

he tilted his head and pointed at his lips with a shocked expression, blinking like he couldn't believe what happened. 

you smiled, and he pulled you in for another kiss, the both of you smiling through it. 

in your second year of university, you decided to take him home. 

"mom, this is my boyfriend." jeno smiled and stood straight, trying to make a good impression.

"he looks very handsome, but also very familiar, have i seen him before?"

you laughed awkwardly, "this is my boyfriend from middle school."

"you never broke up?" 

"we liked each other too much, auntie." jeno said with a smile, placing his hand on your waist, "so we tried our best and got into same schools to be together."

"i approve of him," your mom whispered, "when do i get grandchildren?" 

jeno smiled, overhearing your conversation, and he turned to hide his face. 

after you graduated, you got married, and as you walked into the church in your dress, jeno couldn't help but cry. 

"when we were 15 we used to cry over the fact that we couldnt be together, and now we are officially together, but we are still crying." jeno smiled at you, the smile you so dearly loved.

"i love you so much, i'm so proud to be yours."
