The rings were a good break from birds, but now I was back to it. I got in the car when my manager told me something unexpected.
"You're going to be flying overseas later this week"
"Overseas?"
"Yes"
"Why?"
"For the movie. The birds you will be working with aren't in Korea currently at this time."
"Are there no bird sanctuaries with them?"
"No"
"Guess I'll be packing when I get home later today"
"The flight is in 5 days, so I would advise you to do so"
We continued on our way, while I mentally prepared.

I was in the middle of searching my closet for clothes to pack when I felt a pair of arms slide around my waist and hug me tightly.
"Honey, what are you doing?" I asked my husband of one year, Zyair.
"Just felt like a good night hug"
"What is it?"
"Nothing"
"I learned quite a bit about you before marrying you last year, so I know something is up"
His arms let me go and I turned around to face him.
"You caught me. I wanted to give you something"
He dug in his pocket and pulled out a pin with the words "I just like to smile. Smiling's my favorite" written on it.
"It's our favorite Christmas movie~" I awwed at the pin.
"I know, and that's why I got it. Something for you to remember me by while you're across the ocean, filming your movie."
"Thank you Zy" I used the nickname I used to call him when we were younger.
"I love you, Mel"
"I love you too" I kissed him on the cheek before he got into bed, falling asleep shortly after.

The days in the city quickly flew by, and the next thing I knew I was on my way to the airport. The highway was as crowded as it ever was, but the airport was honestly jammed with traffic. Not to mention traffic was also quite slow. With no parking in sight, my manager dropped me off with my bag by the gate, leaving me to just wait it out, in hopes he found something soon enough.
After what was probably 30 minutes, I finally got a message of relief from my manager saying he was on his way back. As I stood waiting, I heard someone call my name.
"Melanie!" A cheery voice called, and I looked to see Kevin with Juyeon and his manager.
I felt my face contort with confusion as the trio got closer to me. When Kevin was a far enough distance, he ended up speedwalking to me.
"Kevin, what are you doing here?"
"Well, you're going to Vancouver, right?"
