The letter

It's been about 3 weeks since Evangeline was born. We made major improvements to the house and fortified it for her safety as well as a something to ensure the doctor kept his distance and also couldn't escape, after getting all the old stuff and rubble out of the way me and Luke found a tiny room , we fixed it up and put bars on the windows it was perfect for the doctor.

It was also at the far back of the house so he would have to get past us if he wanted to escape.
I felt my magic coming back and though I couldn't lift houses or throw someone to the wall I could still do tiny spells. I used a cleaning spell to clean all the hard stain and repair the stuff we couldn't be able to do ourselves and it worked for the most part some things couldn't be saved

"I'm really starting to feel stronger luke, uk what that means right?" I say as we walk to the kitchen, then realize we have no food....

"Shit where are we gonna get food?" I say

"Don't worry baby I got that, I'm gonna go try to find something for us. Stay away from the doctor I don't care how strong you feel" he kisses me on the forehead and heads out.

I silently pray he's careful , we don't know just exactly what we're dealing with out there. It's a whole different world.

I peak in at Eva in our make shift bed and she's sleeping peacefully, she's gotten so big and she's starting to talk. I think this is the stage where she becomes more aware of herself, she's also holding her head up. I don't know everything about babies but I do remember some things from my old pack when the woman would have their babies. I'm confident that we will be ok, we finally got our miracle baby.

She may not be lukes biological baby but she is still his as much as she is mine, and she goes up. She will never have the question if he's really her father or not because as far as she will know he is we've decided not to tell her how she came to be. It's better that way.

I do more things around the house trying to make it more Homie for us. I remember the doctor hasnt eaten in about a day. I go over to his makeshift sale and he's leaning on the wall just staring at the other side of the wall.

" so I know we haven't been the best caretakers for you and honestly even though you deserve everything you're getting I still feel bad so I will let you out just for a little bit. You know you won't be able to run without me  catch you, keep that in mind."

As I unlock the cage. He quickly stands and wait for the doors open . As soon as I step out side of it he walks into the living room to where eva is sleeping.
He stares down at her and smiles , it almost seems like he cares about her but I know not to be fooled he only wants to use her to save his world he doesn't actually care for her well being.

"You keep your distance from my daughter weirdo" I say raising my voice slightly and he scurries to the far side of the corner , scared out of his mind.

"I won't hurt her vee I swear on my life" he builds up the courage to say and my stupid ass almost believed him, I won't let him make me feel bad about keeping him locked up because that's exactly what he did to us. It's his turn to live in fear and under the thumb of people just like me and Luke had too. What I had to go through.....

That's enough to kill any sympathy I have for this man. It's beginning to hit afternoon, we don't have electricity or anything but I know because the sun turns orange when it hits noon. This world is completely different from the one I remember if I listen closely I hear the groans of the zombie like creatures coming from a few floors down. I prayed they didn't make it up here we didn't know how to kill them or if they could be killed.

She begins fussing and that means she hungry , I sit on the dusty couch and began breast feeding her, once I finally look at the doctor he is looking at me but quickly looks away once I catch him staring. Of course a man will be a man, it's fucking sick to get horny off of me breastfeeding my child , If he thinks he will ever get a chance with me he's sadly mistaken. I'll make sure to tell Luke when I get back we've delt with creeps like him before. I'm too trusting.

I feel a strong presence somewhere in the building
What is it piper? Is it danger?
I'm not sure but whoever it is is very powerful

I quickly put Eva down and walk towards the door looking out the peephole and see nothing there. I open the door and look down the hallways, I don't hear any zombies so I know it's not them. I then decide to look down and see there's a letter on the ground.

Coming back inside i triple lock the door putting things to block the door. I knew Luke would fly in he never uses the door. Looking at the note it says my name in pretty handwriting, I'm very curious as to who could've left this because to my knowledge we were the only ones left in the world.

"What's that?" The doctor says

"Nothing that concerns you, you've had enough free time.  it's time to go back in your cell." I say putting the note down and ushering him back to his room.

"Wait can I at least get a book?" I pick up the biggest book that was closets to me and shove it into his chest pushing him in and locking the door.

Looking at Eva peacefully falling back asleep I quickly look at the letter and decide to wait until Luke is home to open it.

I know it can't be good because I have a very bad feeling about it
