My eyes were blindfolded as I was being led to a place I had no idea of, Maverick being the one directing me. I stumbled a few times and he would keep me steady as I muttered a few curses.

After Maverick's surprise visit at work, he had proposed to taking me on a date on my day off. Ofcourse I obliged .

"We've been walking for ten freaking minutes, Rick. Where the hell are you taking me?"

The man just laughed at my question, not even bothering to answer. I couldn't blame him though. My frequent questions must have been traumatizing him.

"We are almost there. Hold on."

I let out a squeal as I felt his hands grip both my legs and he was carrying me bridal-style. My ass got planted on something soft and comfy, I guessed a picnic mat. The blindfold was removed from my face and I squinted my eyes, trying to adjust to the light.

I scrutinized our surroundings, and felt my eyes tear up. Everything was beautiful! We were in the middle of the woods, it seemed. Beautiful coloured lamps hang on the trees,  small tables supported a basket of fruits and I'm guessing some food and wine too. Rose petals were spluttered all over the ground and yes, I was sitting on a extremely beautiful picnic  carpet.

"Everything is so beautiful, Rick. You didn't have to do this."

He took my hand in his. "Of course I had to do this. Can't let time run out with you not being my girl."

"What?"

"Be my girlfriend, Serenity."

A genuine smile played on his lips, and his words made my heart flutter. "You know I'd love to."

"So is that a yes?"

"Yes."

He sealed the deal with a kiss, then smothered my face with little pecks. I giggled at the feeling.

"Well, I bought your favourites."

He took out a KFC bucket, my Java coffee, white chocolate, a bottle of champagne and some plates that contained a variety of cut fruits from the basket.

I helped him set over the foods and decided on making myself comfortable on his laps. He shook his head, smirking at me.

"Will this be your first time having a taste of KFC?" I asked.

"Yeah. I want to adjust to the taste of meat but the sickening thought of those poor animals disturbs my intellect."

"Remember what I said, baby. God gave us animals to eat. There's nothing wrong with following orders from Above."

"Baby, huh?" He retorted smugly making my cheeks heat up. "I guess I'm a very compassionate person."

I scoffed. "You wish. You are just being oblivious. Now, open you mouth."

He did so, and I fed him a piece of the crunchy KFC drumstick. He munched on it softly, and took another bite.

"You were saying?"

He rolled his eyes. "The taste is splendid, flower. That I cannot deny."

I munched my own, marvelling at the taste that never seemed to disappoint my taste buds. As weird as it seemed, after every bite, I took a sip of my coffee, the combo making love to my taste buds.

Maverick poured the wine into our glasses, and we tossed to the beginning of our relationship. He had a look of content on his face, as he drunk his wine. I couldn't help but admire how he looked in the midst of everything.

The sides of his hair were styled with gel and laid silky flat on his head whilst the curly part was just more curly than ever. He had won a black polo tshirt with a gold chain dangling on his neck, some black tailor-made pants and a pair of white Airforce 1 sneakers. As usual, he had his pinky ring and had decided to wear studs on his ears.
