PoV: Hanzo

As I ambled towards the shrine, a small pond shimmered in the sunlight, catching my eye. The sun, though still hanging in the sky, cast a gentle glow upon the water's surface, making it look strangely inviting. Leaning over to inspect my reflection, I couldn't help but wonder if anything changed in me.

Hanzo: ...I look the same. But I could feel something is different within me.
Curious, I plucked a small rock from the ground and gave it a hard squeeze. I could feel the rock cracking inside my fist, gripping a bit harder I ended up breaking it completely.

Hanzo: There's definitely something different about me.

The heightened senses became more apparent as I observed my surroundings. The sun felt blindingly intense. It was as if someone had cranked up the brightness, turning daylight into a flash grenade. Oddly, I could now see things in the darkness. Deciding that I had pondered enough, I resumed my journey towards the shrine.

As night enveloped the landscape, an unusual sensation swept over me. Fangs grew sharper, and expansive wings unfurled from my back, tearing through my shirt. I stood there, bathed in the moon's glow, feeling a surge of power coursing through my veins.

Hanzo: Damn my shirt. I hope this change isn't permanent.

Having embraced the transformation, I continued towards the Hakurei shrine, guided by the soft glow of lantern light. when I arrived, my enhanced hearing picked up a sound inside the shrine.

???: Your shrine hasn't seen visitors for quite some time, daze.

???-1: Sigh~ all because of that rumor...

Reaching the top of the stairs, I discovered two figures having tea – a blonde in a magician's attire and what appears to be the shrine maiden based on her Miko get up. As their conversation paused, the shrine maiden's gaze shifted towards me with a scrutinizing look.

???-1: What is a youkai doing here?

In an attempt to ease the tension, I put on my usual fake introverted smile.

Hanzo: Hello there. Sorry for coming unannounced. I hope I didn't cross any boundaries.

Well... So much for a light introduction. You didn't need to give me that skeptical look.

???-1: This is the first time I've seen you.

Hanzo: I just arrived here.

???-1: Just arrived? Are you an outsider?

Hanzo: Don't know what that is. All I know is I got crushed in an accident, and next thing I know, I wake up in front of a young lady with a purple dress.

???-1: Yukari?

Hanzo: Yes, that's her.

The shrine maiden sighed, her gaze returning to me.

???-1: Only humans come from outside. How come you're a youkai?

As I explained my situation, she didn't seem pleased with the circumstances.

???-1: Sometimes I wonder what is going on inside her brain.

Hanzo: Is something wrong?

???-1: No, nothing. What's your name?

Hanzo: Hanzo Akaki. Nice to meet you, uh...

???-1: Rei-

Marisa: Heya, I am Marisa Kirisame, and this broke shrine maiden is named Rei- Ow!The shrine maiden swiftly reprimanded Marisa with a tap on her head.

Reimu: I am Reimu Hakurei. Nice to meet you.

Hanzo: I just arrived in this place. Could you help me figure out how to adapt here?

Reimu: Hmm... Maybe the Scarlet Devil Mansion would take you in.

As Reimu suggested the Scarlet Devil Mansion, I couldn't help but wonder what kind of place it was. Marisa, the blonde magician, chimed in with her thoughts.

Marisa: Well, it's not the worst idea, but the owner, Remilia Scarlet, she can be a bit... eccentric.

Hanzo: Eccentric how?

Marisa: She's a vampire, the Scarlet Devil. Lives in that fancy mansion with her maid, Sakuya Izayoi. If you're gonna go, just be careful not to get on Remilia's bad side. She's powerful, and she's got a bit of a short temper.

The prospect of meeting a vampire intrigued me. A vampire's blood was what turned me into a half-youkai. Maybe Remilia could shed some light on my condition. With a nod of gratitude, I thanked Marisa and turned my attention back to Reimu.

Hanzo: Scarlet Devil Mansion it is, then. Can you give me directions?

Reimu: It's not too far from here. Just follow the road to the east, and you can't miss it. But before you go, you might want to rest a bit. Nighttime is when youkai are most active, and the road to the mansion can be dangerous.

Marisa: Yeah, yeah. Reimu's right. You don't wanna get jumped by some youkai when you're still new here daze.

Hanzo: Thanks for the advice. I'll take a moment to rest, then head towards the Scarlet Devil Mansion.

Reimu offered a small smile, and Marisa waved enthusiastically as I descended the shrine's stairs. Finding a quiet spot nearby, I sat down, gazing at the moonlit landscape of Gensokyo. This world was a far cry from my ordinary high school life, but there was a strange allure to its mystery.

As I rested, I couldn't shake off the feeling that my life had taken an unexpected turn. The idea of meeting a vampire, encountering more youkai, and navigating this mystical realm both excited and daunted me.

After a brief respite, I got up, ready to embark on the journey to the Scarlet Devil Mansion. The road stretched out before me, flanked by the mystical beauty of Gensokyo. With each step, I delved deeper into a world filled with wonders, uncertainties.

The moonlit night embraced me as I walked the path, eager to unravel the secrets that awaited in this realm of fantasy.
