Chapter Four: Spoke Too Soon

"Jang Won Young, you're late." "I'm sorry, I was on the bus and there was traffic." "This is your first and last time being late okay?" "Nae..." "Go to your seat, we have a lot of work to do today." I walked to my desk and sat down. After doing a bunch of work, I looked at the time and there was only 5 minutes of class left. I finished my work and went to the teacher. I was about to hand it over to her when suddenly the classroom door slammed open revealing the bullys. I looked at the teacher and she looked like she was ready to quit this job. I heard her sigh and say "Park Sung Hoon, Park Jong Seong/Jay, and Sim Jae Yun/Jake stay for detention for 2 hours and another hour for slamming my classroom door open and coming to class 5 minutes before the bell rings for class to be over." They rolled their eyes and walked to their seat which were behind and next to me. I noticed that Sung Hoon wasn't bullying me which I was happy with. Just as I was about to sit down on my chair after giving the teacher my work, I fell down when I looked back I saw Sung Hoon, Jay, and Jake laughing their butts off along with the other students. I spoke too soon... I obviously didn't want to make a scene so I stood up and sat down on my chair. "Why don't you look at me hmm?" I kept ignoring him until the bell rang. After I left the classroom, I saw Han Woo putting his stuff up in his locker and walked over to him. "Hey Woo, are you busy?" "Oh hey Wonie, no I'm not busy." "Okay, wanna go eat lunch with me in the cafeteria?" "Sure!" We then walked to the cafeteria and went to get our food. While we were in line, I saw Han Woo looking pale and trembling. "Yah...gwencha?" "U-uh I-I sh-should..." I followed his gaze to where he was looking and I found out that he was being stared down by 3 boys sitting in front of us. "H-Han W-Woo, let's get our food." "U-Uh, y-you can go, I'm going to the restroom." After he left I saw Sung Hoon following Han Woo after saying something to Jay and Jake. I knew it wasn't gonna be good so I hurriedly followed him and noticed that Jay and Jake started following me too. When I stood in front of the boy's bathroom, my eyes widened as I saw Sung Hoon beating the life out of Han Woo. "Sung Hoon! Stop it Sung Hoon!" I was about to step in to stop him but I felt arms holding my arms back. I started crying because my best friend was getting beat up to where his whole face is covered in blood. After 17 minutes of having to watch Sung Hoon beat Han Woo up, I was released. I rushed to Sung Hoon and slapped him on his cheek hard. "I hate you! You're a monster!" I quickly went to Han Woo and helped him get up to go to the nurse so that she could get him to the hospital. I was struggling to get Han Woo to the nurse and after Han Woo was sent to the hospital, I went home feeling useless and hopeless as I wasn't able to do anything when he was covered in blood.
