15 years old Y/N was on her way to school. It was another normal day for her. As she walked, she came across a small park. Some children were playing there with their parents. This made her upset. She never got to play like this with her parents. Because her parents left her when she was just 3. They died in a car accident. She grew up in a orphanage. She never got to experience parental love. Everyone in orphanage loved her but it was nothing compared to parental love. She was so lost in these thoughts that she didn't notice a speedy car coming in her direction. It was about to hit her when someone pushed her. This made her lose balance and she fell on the other side of the road. She was saved. The car couldn't hit her. But unfortunately, the person who saved her got hit by the car and got seriously injured. She immediately rushed towards the person.
Y/N : Unnie ! Unnie ! Wake up !
She tried to wake her up.
Y/N : Someone please help !
She panicked. The car's owner offered them help. She accepted it and they immediately left the place for hospital.
Y/N was walking back and forth in front of the ICU. The doctor told her to wait there. She was so stressed. She was continuously blaming herself.
You : This happened because of me. Because of me, her life is in dangerous. I'm horrible. I'm really horrible... I'll...I..I'll... die ! If something happens to her. I DON'T DESERVE TO LIVE...
Her hands were shaking. Her breathing got heavy. She was having a panic attack. She fell on her knees. A nurse noticed her and quickly approached her.
Nurse : Miss, are you okay ?
She couldn't say anything. She was shaking.
Nurse : Here, have some water.
The nurse handed her a bottle of water and she drank some water from it. The nurse was trying to calm her down by stroking her back. They heard the ICU's door open. The doctor came out of it.
Doctor : I'm sorry.... Miss... we couldn't save her.
Y/N totally froze. She couldn't say anything nor move. An innocent person died because of her, she thought. She blamed herself. She started to feel dizzy. She felt like her whole body was paralyzed. She couldn't believe anything that was happening around her at that moment. The nurse who helped her earlier, was still stroking her back but she was feeling too numb to notice that. She didn't want to live anymore.
After few seconds, a boy came there and started to ask about the person who saved Y/N. The way he was breathing heavily showed that he came there in a rush.
Doctor : Are you related to the patient ?
Boy : Yes ! I'm her brother.
Nurse : I called him and informed him about his sister.
Boy : Doctor ! Is my sister okay ?
They all remained silent while the boy kept asking about his sister. They didn't know how to tell the boy that his sister was gone, for good. He won't be able to see her ever again. How would they tell him that he was now all alone in this world. The boy has no one in this world except his sister. His sister was his only family.
Boy : Doctor, please tell me. Is my Noona okay ? PLEASE TELL ME !
He yelled at the doctor.
Doctor : I'm sorry...
Boy : What do you mean ?
Doctor : We couldn't save her.
And like this, his whole world turned upside down. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. His sister, the person he loved the most in this world has left him. He wanted to say something but he couldn't no matter how much he tried. He wanted to say 'No ! I don't believe you ! It's a lie ! My Hyo Joo Noona is okay. I know she just got slightly injured and she'll be fine. I know as soon as I'll enter the ICU room, she'll look at me and she'll give me that radiant smile of her. She'll say Jisungie, you were worrying for nothing ! See, I'm fine.' But not even a single word escaped his mouth. His heart got heavy. He didn't know what parental love is. His Hyo Joo Noona was his everything, his sister, his mother, his father, Everything.
