As they stepped out into the crisp night, the wintry air seemed to slightly clear their head. The charming town lights flickered in the distance, and the quiet streets awaited their footsteps. Everwood didn't seem too bad for a moment there as they strolled. The night held a certain magic, or perhaps it was the prospect of getting laid after so long.

Either way, it felt good.

Kale grinned, the playful atmosphere lingering. "Well, I'm glad I made an impression, at least."

Yeah, you did more than that," Elara smirked, her tipsy state still present in her speech. "You're making my night unexpectedly enjoyable."

Throwing his head back, he erupted in laughter. Her cheeks ached from the wide smile plastered across her face as she watched him. Their steps faltered until they stopped in the middle of the empty road. Then, blue met green, and, slowly, both sobered up—intense gazes, misty clouds of fleeting breaths, and flickering flames of nascent desire.

This time, however, Elara was sure it was mutual.

Kale stepped forward until their chests were almost touching. Elara looked up, glad her height came in handy as she found her mouth a breath away from his parted one. His smell intoxicated her. His presence enveloped her. Was this a normal reaction to have to someone you barely know? She didn't care.

"Can I kiss you?" He murmured.

A nod was her response. She couldn't speak, didn't want to. He leaned in, capturing her lips in a soft, lingering kiss. Time seemed to stand still as they lost themselves in the quiet symphony of shared attraction. The gentle dance of their hearts filled their ears and the world around them faded into insignificance, leaving only the exchange of breaths and the heat of their connection.

When they finally parted, a soft, shared breath escaped as they rested their foreheads together.

"I've been wanting to do that for a long time," Kale confessed, his voice a gentle whisper.

Elara, still caught in the sweet aftermath, managed a breathy chuckle. "A long time?"

"Yeah." He shot her a cheeky grin. "Ever since I saw you two days ago."

She smirked. "Is that all you had in mind?"

"God, woman." Kale burst out laughing and she joined him before grabbing his hand and tugging him forward. "So impatient."

"Aren't you?"

"Very." Kale intertwined their fingers and picked up their speed. Laughter resonated in the air, blending with the rhythmic sound of their footsteps.

Upon slowing down outside her house, their pants were the only audible sound as she fumbled for her keys. The moment they stepped in, the door was slammed shut. Elara found herself pressed against it, Kale molding his body against hers. His mouth met hers, and her hands cupped his face, drawing him close in an embrace charged with an electric intensity.

Kale's lips were warm and tender, exploring hers with a gentle urgency. Elara's heart raced as his touch sent shivers down her spine. His tongue ran over her bottom lip before nipping and pulling.

She moaned, arching into him and limply trying to rid him of his coat. Pulling back slightly, a breathy laugh escaped his swollen mouth. "Easy there, tiger, you almost fell."

Elara flushed. "Shut up, it's your fault."

"Yeah?" Kale couldn't hide the satisfaction in his tone as he encircled her waist with one arm, pulling her flush against him, while his other hand gently cradled the back of her head before he devoured her lips once more.

Elara almost melted, enjoying everything he was giving her. It was her first time not leading a kiss and enjoying it.

Dazed, both retreated for a brief respite where his hands snuck beneath her coat, tracing her hips up to her waist before skimming the outline of her boobs. Her breath hitched as he slowly removed her scarf, tracing her jawline before removing her outerwear. She shivered, standing only in her form-fitting woolen dress.

"Beautiful."

Elara rolled her eyes. "Took you long enough to say it."

Suppressing his grin, Kale pouted. "I didn't want to come off as a creep when we've just started speaking."

"Fair enough, now shut up and take off your coat. My whole body turned to jelly after your kisses," she whined, slapping his shoulder when he laughed. "Come on, my house is cold after I sold everything. Warm me up, big boy."

After tossing everything behind him, Kale picked up a flustered Elara. Her legs wrapped around his waist, her arms around his neck. Her teeth nibbled at his ear as he carried her upstairs. Groaning, Kale gripped her hips tighter.

As soon as he reached her room, he stopped by the entrance. "Isn't the bed a little small for us?"

Elara glanced at it. "Good point. Good thing I haven't sold off my mom's mattress." When he grimaced, she chuckled. "We'll flip it. I hope she rolls in her grave."

"Was she that bad?" Kale frowned, guiding them to the room two doors away.

Amusement never faded from Elara's blues. She was far beyond being over her mother's bullshit. "Worse, but that's a marriage proposal tale so shut up and let's bang."

"Bang?" Her teasing was contagious and Kale found himself laughing, setting her down gently. Her heart fluttered.

"Yeah," she smiled, pulling him down with his belt. His body dropped over hers, knocking the air out of her but she didn't care as she slammed her mouth against his. "Ravish me, Mr. Kale Bennett. I'm all yours for tonight."

"As am I," he breathed, grinding against her.

The flickering streetlights cast shadows that danced on the walls and illuminated their sweaty bodies. The subtle touches and lingering glances spoke volumes, building a tension that hung in the air like the sweet scent of jasmine.

The night progressed with electrifying energy as Elara and Kale were caught in the magnetic pull of desire.
