That car ride was the longest one I've ever been on, in my 15 years of life. As we pulled out of the driveway from the regenerative woman, we drove away from the house. We thought we were in the clear, a car ran into the left side of our car. Guess who: regenerative freak lady. My dad rolled down the window and blasted fire balls at her car, but only a little damage was given to the car. She then jerked her car and hit us hard. Mt older brother was knocked out cold, probably colder than my powers. That's when I noticed the worried expression on my father's face. He shouted at me "Evan, freeze the road!" So I did what was requested of me. My eyes turned neon blue, arms became baby blue with frost beaming off of them. I rolled down my window and fired an ice beam at the road, far enough so the freak lady would run into it. It was a success! I rolled the window back up and my body turned back to normal. She finally noticed what I did, but it was too late for her. Her car skidded and crashed into a ditch. I would love to see her come back from that one. Hopefully she wouldn't. We kept going, and I thawed the road back so I wouldn't hurt another innocent life again. My dad praised me for what I did, and we found a decent hotel to crash at. It felt good to do something right, after all the wrong I've done over the past day. Let me tell you finally getting some sleep felt great. I dozed off, awaiting for what came the next day.
It's typical to wake up to a rooster screeching in the morning, but that's exactly how I woke up. I may have been imagining it, but my dad said it really happened. Having my cool powers has its advantages. I made my brother a do-it-yourself ice pack. Within a second, he woke up. He thanked me, and so did our dad. I never got to meet my older brother, with all the mess that happened yesterday, so we got to meet each other. His name is Dylan Young. He is 17 and two years apart from me. That was nice since we could bond better I guess. I had a good feeling about him. It was nice to know I had a sibling that could be there for me. More of a comfort system then a fake mother and a new father. He asked me all about my powers. He told me it's awesome and cool and that he wished he had powers. I couldn't believe he wanted this curse. I mean they're cool in a way and all, but society views me as a freak. I told him that being normal isn't always bad. My dad said he's very smart and excells in school. I don't think we'll be in school again anytime soon. My dad made us breakfast, but kind of instant since he manipulates fire. It's kind of ironic that he had fire and I have ice and snow. But opposites attract so maybe it'll turn out to be a good thing. After our breakfast, he said we needed to keep moving. He told us it wasn't just the agent after us, there's more out there. He explained that it's a government association that takes in "special" people due to their abilities. He said that woman has been after him fit a while, and that my real mother split us up so we would be safe. But the consequence was not knowing my father or brother. My father explained it in a hurt tone, because obviously they captured her if I've had a fake mom all my life. He said he had to find her. I comforted him that I want to help. He didn't say no to my offer, but was glad. He reminded me I was strong, and that my powers would only grow. That's good for me; because I've got to find my mother, and these abilities are going to come in real handy.
