Radhika's POV

I couldn't believe that Sakthi didn't see Friends. So we started watching from episode 1. I know it's my fifth time watching, but still, it makes me laugh. She didn't like the first episode because of laughing tracks and it felt old, blah blah. I too didn't like the first episode when I first saw it. So I encourage her to go on.

Sakthi is dusky with big black eyes which are so beautiful, she has long curly hair. Man, how did she manage this kinda uncontrollable hair? Sharp nose and brown lips. She is so authentic and one could easily find out that she is new to the city.

I, on the other hand, grew up here, I just wanted to be away from my parents. So I chose to stay in a hostel for my college. They did argue against it at first but eventually, I convinced them that travel would take two hours with the peak hour traffic, which is true.

My parents didn't like each other. My dad and mom didn't see each other till the date of marriage. I know it's weird but man, it was 70s India. So when they saw each other, my mom liked my dad but my dad didn't like her because of her physique. She is a bit on the chubbier side.

When he didn't like her, he shouldn't have had sex with her, right? But no, at least they should have stopped with my elder sister right? But no.
We were beaten a lot as kids. Never had good food, cause my mom also lost interest and she was invested mostly in saving her marriage. Never had a good time with my dad. So me and my sister had each other.

She graduated last year and started working. She is more of a mom to me as we have 4 years difference. We tend to mature quickly when we face too much at a young age. But Sakthi looks very innocent, from what she shared, I understand that she is from such a loving family which I can only dream of.

My sister also escaped from our house the instant she got a chance. She got accepted into a college in Kerala. So there was no need to convince and she started working in Trivandrum after college. So she is very happy. So I have been dreaming of this day for the last 4 years. And finally, I made it, my first night of freedom.

My sister introduced me to the series and Friends have constantly helped me in getting my mind out of all family drama. So I have to introduce you to my potential future BFF.

I was woken up by Sakthi, it was 7 in the morning. We have to be at class by 9 am. So I quickly jumped out of my bed and took a quick shower. By 8.45, I and Sakthi started walking towards the freshers building.

We have this fresher building where all department first-year classes are there. It's designed that way to avoid ragging or bullying by seniors. But we have labs in other buildings. We reached our class in five minutes and sat on the middle bench so that we wouldn't be labelled first benchers/bookworms or last benchers/troublemakers. We just wanted to be average people.

"Hey, is it ok if I sit here?", I looked up to see a girl who was fair-skinned with small reddish pimples on her cheeks, wavy black hair, and full pink lips and her smile was so contagious.

"Sure. Hi, I am Sakthi, she is Radhika" I smiled, " and you are?" asked Sakthi

" I am Lekha".
