Sylvia (First POV)

I ran towards the door as soon as it opened, stuffing Willow in my closet. Scarlett walked into our apartment, looking all sorts of a mess.

I had been extremely worried after I called Scarlett a million times and she didn't answer. Now that I could control my own body, I could yell at her.

"Where the hell were you yesterday? You weren't at school, either," I said.

Scarlett flopped on the couch and pulled off her socks. She threw them at the washing machine.

Ew.

"You go to a million parties without permission, so why can't I go out?"

I glared at her as I held my breath and put her socks inside the washing machine. "You went to a party by yourself?"

"No." Scarlett pulled her phone from her pocket and put it in the charger next to the couch.

"Well, where were you? I called Luna and she said you weren't with her."

She didn't answer and I felt frustration boiling inside me.

Scarlett pierced my eyes with her brown ones. "Oh my god, just leave me alone. Do you have to always be so annoying?"

I threw up my arms. "Can you at least tell me where you were? Or what happened?"

"Well, it's not like you're not going to believe me!"

Suddenly, Scarlett's phone sounded and lit up. It was at one percent, and her phone was being bombarded with texts. Her phone started ringing and my eyes fixed on the caller ID: Ash.

She glanced at me and answered the call. "I'll call you later. I'm busy right now."

"Who the hell is Ash?" I demanded once she had hung up. "Are you seriously dating someone right now? What would Mom think if you were going out with some boy instead of focusing on your work? The tuition was really expensive, frankly, and you should just -"

"You have worse grades than me anyway!" Scarlett snapped, standing up to face me. "You spend all of your time going out with those two idiots! I bet they're failing their classes right now. I mean, you said so yourself that Yvaine -"

"THEY ARE NOT IDIOTS!" I yelled, my face turning red. "Stop thinking that you're so above everyone else!"

Scarlett scowled as she turned around and walked to her room. I was still frustrated at her, and I wondered what she was hiding. Just wait till I tell Mom that Scarlett has a boyfriend.

I sat on the couch and pulled my phone out of my pocket to scroll through my unread messages. I heard a door slam open, and I turned my head around to see Scarlett reluctantly walking out of her room. She was clutching an old picture of Autumn, our older sister who died from lung cancer. I gave her a weird look as she sat on the couch across from me.

"What do you want now?" I asked, barely looking up from my phone.

Scarlett fidgeted with her hands. "I was thinking of telling you what happened."

I pointed to the picture of Autumn. "Why are you carrying that around?"

Scarlett crossed her legs and showed me the picture. I took a sharp breath - I hadn't even glanced at a picture of Autumn for months. The picture showed an older version of Autumn, where she had cut her long hair short and dyed it black. In the photo, she was posing with some of her friends. A few months after she passed away, we gathered all the pictures of her and kept it for safekeeping.
