Approaching the entrance, Taehyung noticed a low-key staff entrance nearby. He squared his shoulders, walking up to the security guard and speaking with unwavering confidence.
"Hey, I'm part of the event crew - helping out with setup and stuff," Taehyung stated firmly.
The guard checked him, "ID?"
Taehyung met his gaze, "Absolutely." He confidently pulled out a sleek, black access card from his pocket.
The guard inspected it, nodding after a moment, "Alright, make it quick. We've got a lot going on."
Taehyung thanked him and strolled in, keeping his cool until he was safely inside. He snuck into the party to meet Jimin but without even realizing it, his eyes started searching for Jungkook, It had been two weeks since he met him. His eyes landed on Jiwon heading towards the exit. She had her manager in tow and stopped upon seeing Taehyung.
"You seem familiar, have we met before?"
Taehyung responded with a friendly smile, "I'm Kim Taehyung, Jennie's brother."
He noticed the sudden shock and curiosity in her eyes.
"Really? Jennie's brother? Aah, that's why you seemed familiar. How are you doing? About Jennie, it must have been tough for you...."
"Everything's okay.... Yeah, it's been hard, but pushing through."
"Yeah, if you ever need anything, just reach out. I'm here for you."
"Sure, thank you so much."
She gave Taehyung a big comforting smile.
"Find out who invited him to the party," she asked her manager as they walked towards the exit.
Out of the blue, someone grabbed his hand, pulling him along until they stopped at a spot where no one was around. Under the dim light, he saw the familiar face - Jimin.
"Why didn't you come with the CEO? I thought you were staying with him," Jimin asked in a concerned tone.
"Do you think I would stay with him after I saw what you gave me? Now, tell me what you want to say. Who are you? How do you know Jennie? Where did you get those pictures from?"
"I'm a trainee at Golden Voice. I've met Jennie a few times; we had a lot in common-coming from a poor family, having a little sibling to look after, a strong passion for music... and we gradually became friends. She used to tell me a lot about her cute little brother, and I talked about my sister. I know about her relationship with the CEO"

Taehyung slowly made his way to the other side of the venue, going over every detail Jimin had shared. But his eyes got stuck on a corner bench. Jungkook was sitting there all alone, an empty glass in his hand as he stared into the distance.

"Hey, how's your leg? Up for a little walk?"
