What are you doing after this?" my eyes looked over Helen like they did over the drink options, not really looking, just doing what they should.
Poor, poor Helen. Every time I went to a bar I still took it as a challenge. See if I can get a girl to come home with me, and make Steve figure out how to get me out of it. It never took too much effort from me.
She pushed back her brown hair "I happen to be free". She giggled, they always giggle.
I sipped my drink, slightly smirking at her.
"How about I show you around a military base."
"Are you even allowed to do that?" Helen glanced away.
"I'd break a few rules for you."
"Ah, so you're a bad boy."
"If you want me to be, yeah" I smiled.
"A tour sounds fun" She smiled back.
My eyes flickered to Steve's crystal ones for a moment. You're it.
"Not tonight Bucky, we're doing night training," He says, almost too automatically.
"Well, maybe next time" I shrug. Saved again by Captain America.
"Darn, I was really looking forward to it" Helen giggles.
I finish my glass and set it on the table, just loud enough to get the attention of the bartender.
"Another one of what she's having please" I call as I set some money on the table. "I had a lovely time talking with you tonight, but I've got to head back, for training" I nod my head from Steve to the door and start walking
"Have a nice night ma'am" Steve says, being his usual respectful self. As we get outside he puts his arm around me.
"You've got to stop making me the bad guy" He laughs a little. My favorite sound.
