description: a snow day with jack and your daughter
word count: 848

"mummy, daddy! wake up, wake up!" a squeaky voice shouted.

you then felt the bed moving ever so slightly.

you blinked your eyes open to see your daughter, y/d/n, jumping up and down on your bed. she was five years old.

"why are you so excited this morning?" you raised your eyebrows.

"it snowed!" she exclaimed.

you giggled, then shook your husband.

"jack, wake up. your mini-you is excited to go out in the snow." you informed.

"i know, i heard." he said, his eyes still closed.

"daddy!" she exclaimed and jumped on him.

"ow! y/d/n/n, you're getting too big to be jumping on me like that." jack said.

"i'm not that big, daddy." she rolled her eyes.

"hm. she likes snow and has sass. she's all you." you smirked.

jack nudged you and sat up, then took his daughter in his arms.

"you wanna go play in the snow?" he raised his eyebrows.

"yes!" she exclaimed.

"okay, let's go get ready. last one to finish getting ready is a stinky butt!" he exclaimed.

she giggled. "i don't wanna be a stinky butt."

"then you better go get ready!" he called.

"okay!"

she then ran off to her bedroom and he laughed.

"let me go help her. when i'm done and you two children go outside, i'll start on some hot chocolate." you said.

"you're not gonna come outside?" he raised his eyebrows.

"no, sir. i hate the snow and the cold, you know this. i will be staying in the warmth of my house with my amazing heating system and my delicious hot chocolate." you nodded.

"okay, but you're gonna miss out on all the fun." he pointed.

"no i won't because i'll be watching from the window." you retorted.

"i think she gets her sass from you. always having an answer for everything." jack shook his head.

"i think that's a good thing." you replied.

"i don't disagree."

you smiled and kissed him on the lips.

"have fun racing your own daughter."

"you know i will."

you then went to your daughter's room to help her get changed.

"okay, now go beat daddy!" you whisper-shouted when you were done getting her ready.

"okay, mommy!" she smiled. "daddy, i'm ready."

he came into the room with his snow gear on.

"okay, ready? three...two...one...go!" he exclaimed.

she laughed and ran outside as fast as her little legs could carry her.

jack won, of course.

even though he was her father, he loved winning.

you went to the window and watched as they had a snowball fight.

jack let her win that one to make up for her losing the race.

you got started on the hot chocolate and when you were done, you looked outside to see them building a snowman.

you grabbed your phone and went over to the door, snapping some pictures.

"okay you two! hot chocolate is done!" you called from the doorway.

"ooo, yum! let's go daddy!"

"okay!"

she grabbed his hand and ran into the out.

"shake yourselves out by the door. no snow on my floor, please." you ordered.

"mommy's no fun." jack whispered. "should we make her cold?"

y/d/n giggled. "yes."

"okay. we're gonna go up to her and hug her with the snow still on us, ready? three...two...one...go!"

"what are you—. oh my!"

you felt the cold on you and the shivers go through your spine.

"you guys are so cold!" you exclaimed.

jack laughed hysterically and y/d/n giggled.

"who's idea was this?" you raised your eyebrows.

"daddy's." y/d/n pointed.

"oh you tattletale." he squinted.

"no hot chocolate for daddy! just for mommy and y/d/n/n." you decided, obviously joking.

"and we can watch the grinch! daddy's scared of the grinch!" y/d/n exclaimed.

"i am not!" jack shouted.

"are too! i'm gonna go talk into the remote and put it on!" she exclaimed.

"please take your snow gear off first, baby!" you called.

"okay, mumma!" she called back as she ran out of the room.

you smiled and shook your head.

"do i really not get any hot chocolate?" he raised his eyebrows.

"i'm kidding. here." you said, then handed it to him.

"thank you."

he then kissed you.

"are we actually watching the grinch, though?" he asked as you pulled away.

"yes we are."

he groaned. "i don't hate the grinch, but his long, furry fingers creep me out."

"suck it up, buttercup."

he sighed. "fine."

you then grabbed your and y/d/n's hot chocolate and brought it into the living room.

jack followed you and put it down on a coaster on the living to table before going to change.

him and y/d/n came back and y/d/n started the movie after four tries of talking into the remote.

you got cuddled up with jack on the couch as y/d/n sat in his lap.

you smiled to yourself. you loved your little family, especially on this perfect snow day.
