Note: Hi again! Thought I'd just say this again; as a word of caution is that-as stated at the beginning-this book will not be a completely accurate representation of the actual Hunger Games trilogy. Pay no mind please, as I do this out of the convenience of my story to make it work. Happy reading.
Lucy Gray was angry upon being reintroduced to the Hunger Games for a second time and was confused upon why she was to endure it once more when she was a victor. This question however, was not of the most demanding thoughts within the brunette's bustling mind. In prior events within the previous day, Lucy had encountered none other than Coriolanus Snow. What confused her most, was his display of affection and the deliberate lie that he was her supposed mentor which slipped effortlessly from his lips. Sejanus was her mentor and she knew that as much, however the feeling of bother which swirled upon the presence of Coriolanus was unrelenting and rest unwavering on her mind.
As of present, it had been but the crack of dawn. Each district tribute pair and their respective mentors, escorts and designers were assigned a floor for which they would reside in, each seemingly designed for royalty. Lucy Gray and Billy Taupe were designated the top floor, as they were the last district. Lucy sniggered upon first seeing her room, bitter at the thought of the capitol glorifying what would be majority of the tribute's last days before succumbing to a most probable brutal death.
As such, each floor only contained bedrooms and bathrooms, with one main dining and kitchen area, as well as a planning room, being located on one floor which was to be shared by all tributes. Evidently, this did not bode well with some of the rather hostile tributes as some had already tried to attack one another to death with forks, spoons and kitchen knives. Gamemakers and those responsible for the games preparations made a note that for future games, each district would be assigned their own place of stay rather than sharing.
When Lucy woke up in the middle of the night, she was thirsty. Immediately, she trod carefully toward the elevator. The complex was dark, almost being pitch black which made it difficult for Lucy to gather a sense for her directions based on her sight, or lack of in this instance.
"Fúck." Lucy whispered, as she head-butted a wall in an attempt to find the elevator which would take her to the bottom floor where she would hopefully grab a glass of water.
In an attempt to find her surroundings, Lucy made quick work of holding her hands warily in-front of her face, as to avoid directly slamming into walls. Lucy smiled victoriously to herself when she successfully found the elevator and gently pressed on the button indicating the floor she desired to go to.
Stepping out of the elevator, Lucy all but froze. An unintentional human error when wanting a private conversation was mistakenly leaving a door slightly ajar for peepers to eavesdrop on conversations not meant for external individuals other than the parties present.
As but a girl of curiosity, Lucy quietly approached the slightly ajar door on the opposing end of the hallway, directly adjacent from the elevator she had just vacated mere moments ago. She made sure to quieten her footsteps, as she softly trod with intrigue. Despite it not being a conversation for which she was invited to, Lucy Gray felt no shame in hiding within the shadows as she listened intently on a conversation which was she was evidently not invited to hear.
"It's not right! None of this is. You have the power to cancel the games and get rid of them forever now that you are—
A harsh slam was heard, from what Lucy assumed to be a desk.
"It seems you forget yourself, Sejanus."
"No. This is just absurd. These are people, not toys!" Sejanus yelled once more.
