I'll Keep Swooping In

I had found the Room of Requirements in the last week of my seventh year at Hogwarts. By that time, Peter had already lost the Marauder's Map to Filch, so we never got a chance to put it in there. It was the safest place for us to hide in right now (also incredibly comfortable).

I stood in front of the troll tapestry on seventh floor, invisible, but panting and gasping for breath so loudly that I had to cast a silencing charm on myself just to ensure that we don't get caught because of the lack of air in my lungs. Stairs and I have never actually had a good relationship, especially not when I'm sneaking around, carrying an enormous black dog with me. Merlin, I REALLY need to start working out.

Anyways, I walk past the door to the Room, requesting for somewhere we could stay safe for few days, a place where no one could find us. I thank my lucky stars when I push the door and it opens.

I open the door to a small, cozy room with a roaring fireplace casting a warm orange glow over it. It has a bed in the corner with clean bedclothes on (of course it's only one bed), a few cabinets and shelves here and there, which I decided to check out later. I go over to the bed and lay Padfoot down on it, removing the invisibility spell off of us. I place my wand back on his heart and transform him back to his human form.

He stirs and seems to be waking back up as he turns back. I sit down on the ground next to the fireplace, waiting. He stirs and his eyes open finally. The calming potion must have worked as he looks much calmer, and his breathing is deep and slow. He looks confused as to where he is, his eyes flitting around the place restlessly as he cranes his neck to look. That is, until his irises stop to rest on my figure sitting on the rug.

"How're you feeling?", I ask quietly as he sits up. I get up and sit down on the edge of the bed, next to him. Conjuring a glass of water, I offer it to him wordlessly. he takes it just as silently and downs it in one gulp.  "When did you get here?", he asks looking at the empty glass in his hands.

Right when you were about to murder the already dead Fat Lady.

Of course, I don't say that. "About an hour ago.", I say not looking at him either.
"Why? I told- I asked you not to.", He hurriedly corrects himself as if afraid that I would get stubborn again. He sounds frustrated.

"Yeah. Leave you to handle this mess alone so you could end up making out with the dementors.", I grumble under my breath.

"I heard that.", he narrows his eyes at me.
I bite my lips, "Look, it's not like I don't think that you could handle that rat on your own. I just don't want you to." I hold his slightly trembling hand in both of my own and say in a reassuring tone. "Siri, I'm not going back no matter what you say. Just let me help you clear your name, so I can take you home safe and free, yeah?" He stays silent for a while then finally looks up at me at that and sighs defeatedly. "Okay...".
"Yay.", I grin at him as he frowns.
"We have to lay low for a while here in the Room of Requirements, though...They'll be increasing the security after today..." I continue muttering, half to myself, half to him as I ponder about our situation.

He runs a hand in his hair, looking torn and frustrated, "I messed everything up, didn't I?", he sighs.
I compose myself after taking a moment to fawn internally over how sexy he looks when he pushes his hair back, putting his prominent cheekbones and jawline on display.

"No, you didn't, love. It's okay, nothing we can't fix later.", I say comfortingly. He looks at me, his puppy eyes sad and remorseful, "But...", he trails off. "Relax, I understand what happened tonight. It's not your fault, so don't be so hard on yourself. Remember, you can mess up all you want, I'll just keep swooping in to carry your ass back to safety.", I give him a soft smile and wink.

He rolls his eyes, still looking a bit torn, "My, how heroic of you."
"That's me, heroic and awesome.", I say flipping my hair proudly. He chuckles slightly at that, and it gives a warm flutter to my heart. I had completely forgotten all about our fight yesterday, and that I was supposed to be upset with him.

He has always had this effect on me, one look at the sad puppy eyes, and I immediately lay the world down at his feet.
