Chapter One | Somewhere in America

Somewhere in America, M'Baku is watching Ochanya and the Masters of the Mystic Arts argue about her powers and how she saved Tony when Doctor Strange didn't see her involvement in one of his many outcomes.

"You guys should be thanking me that Iron Man didn't need to sacrifice his life to save the universe!" Ochanya shouted as everyone looked on.

"You saved everyone who was supposed to die!" Doctor Strange yelled.

M'Baku grunted. He did not like the way Doctor Strange was talking to Ochanya. M'Baku made a slight movement but T'Challa stopped him.

"Let them sort it out," T'Challa said.

M'Buka scoffed but didn't move.

"Hey, it's not my fault you didn't see the outcome of my involvement in all of this," Ochanya said, smirking. "Maybe, you're just not all that potent," She added.

Tony quickly intervened as he did not want a fight to break out.

"Okay, let's take a timeout and thank our lucky stars that everyone we love is safe and sound," Tony said as he pulled Ochanya away from Doctor Strange who was being held back by Wong.

"Insufferable woman," Doctor Strange muttered as Ochanya stuck her tongue out at him.

"Prick," Ochanya muttered back.

"Mom!" Maaliq exclaimed as he ran over to her.

Maaliq glared at Doctor Strange before looking around the room, his eyes landed on M'Baku and he smiles.

"M'Baku," Maaliq whispers.

Maaliq turns to his mom.

"Mom, look, that's the man from my dreams," Maaliq says, pulling Ochanya in M'Baku's direction.

"Maaliq, what did I tell you about using your super strength on me," Ochanya said, trying to avoid eye contact with M'Baku.

Maaliq gave her a small smile.

"Sorry," Maaliq said, before looking M'Baku up and down then quickly hugging him. "I've been waiting for this moment for a long time," He said.

M'Baku picks up Maaliq, giving him a bear hug.

"It's nice to finally meet you, my son," M'Baku said.

Everyone in the room gasped.

"That wasn't needed," Ochanya said.

"I didn't know you had a son," T'Challa said to M'Baku.

"I only found out after the battle ended," M'Baku said, glaring at Ochanya.

"Hey, I would have told you five years ago but the snap happened, Maaliq, and 50% of all life in the universe was wiped out," Ochanya said, trying to explain why she didn't tell M'Baku about Maaliq sooner.

"I thought you were dead! All you left me was a note saying that you couldn't stay in Jabari Land. I searched for you, Ochanya! I mourned for you!" M'Baku shouted.

Ochanya wanted to cry.

"I'm sorry," Ochanya said.

"Sorry doesn't work for me," M'Baku said.

"M'Baku," Ochanya said.

"You and our son will return to Wakanda with me," M'Baku said in a tone that Ochanya knew she couldn't defy.

Ochanya nods.

"Yes, my lord," Ochanya said.

"That's all it takes to shut her up," Doctor Strange told Wong, surprised at how obedient Ochanya was behaving with M'Baku.

"He's her husband," Wong told Doctor Strange.

"Ochanya, I didn't know you liked cavemen," Tony said.

Ochanya gave him a look.

"He's more of a gorilla than a caveman," Ochanya replied.
