"THIS STORY HAPPENED A LONG TIME AGO, IN A WORLD FAR, FAR AWAY FROM THE PRESENT." a mother narrates to her child, both sitting on the living room couch. the two snuggled up under a warm blanket as the rain poured from outside.

"it is already over. nothing can be done to change it. it is a story of love and loss. sisterhood and betrayal courage and sacrifice and the death of dreams." the mother continues, caressing her daughter's [h/c] hair "a story about the hero who had no name."

"they had no name?" the child mumbles questionably. wondering how such a person could have no name. the innocent question gets mother giggling at her curiosity. "si, mi corazón. she had no name."

the small girl pouts, her face scrunching up at the idea. "that's not fair, everyone should have a name." her arms wiggled underneath the blanket, breaking free. "that's just a bad story then."

"hm, i guess you could say so."

"i know so, mami!"

the mother raises an eyebrow, mocking a surprised expression. "really? why do you think so?"

the question immediately gets the girl's face to light up the room. knowing exactly what she was going to talk about. "a name is always important! cause it tells you what a person's background is."

this was something expected from her, young her curiosity for stories and things alike was beyond that of a mere 7 year old could know.

like always her mother is impressed by her knowledge, such a kind and loving child she was able to have. "mi niña, tan inteligente eres." she mumbles, a hand holding her daughter's face only for her to have a look at her with innocent eyes.

silence only follows before the young girl becomes nervous and fidgets. a question pending in her head, her lips pursing together.

"mami, why do like telling me this story?"

her mother doesn't say anything until a sigh leaves her, brushing a strand of her [h/c] hair behind her ear. "because the hero reminds me of you."

"why?" she asks again, quietly. her electric blue eyes filled with uncertainty and doubt. who is she to a hero filled with glory, honor, and love? she was a broken child to the world and maybe to her mother but she just doesn't say it.

"because," her mother starts, her arms wrapping around her small body like she knew. kissing the crown of her head. holding her daughter soft and close. "she was kind and gentle, but fierce. a bit stubborn too."

she runs a hand down her daughter's back, soothing her to sleep. "even when the world was against her, she didn't let others taint her heart. she continued to be herself, kind and loving to those around her."

"and you know what she always says to herself when things get tough?"

the young girl looks up at her mother, shaking her head. though she was sleepy her eyes glimmered with interest, shining under the warm light.

"be the storm, mi corazón."
