One Year Ago - The Enchanted Forest
As the green cloud of Peter Pan's curse descended upon us Regina destroyed the scroll and changed the curse so we would all go back to the Enchanted Forest, the clouds turning purple as they engulfed us.
Before I knew what was happening we were no longer standing in Storybrooke but instead in a clearing, surrounded by woods with a gazebo built nearby, Aurora and a man standing at her side.
We were back in the Enchanted Forest, and Storybrooke was gone - Emma and Henry had truly been left behind.
One Year Later - Our World
Emma had agreed to meet me the next day for brunch but time was of the essence so I decided I would follow her, discreetly, until I could find an opening. See, a lot had happened in the past year - which we'll get into, don't worry - and in my pocket was a potion that, if Emma drank it, would restore her memories. With her memories restored, I could explain what was going on, why I was here, how I was here, and get her to do her Savior thing.
Luckily, Emma had taught me some of her bail-bondswoman tricks so figuring out where she was going to be that night was simple. She had reservations at a restaurant with some random guy and I decided I was going to tag along. Well, me and Killian.
I wouldn't have made it out of the Enchanted Forest if it weren't for Killian. Killian, who had done so much for me in the past year we had been away, sat across from me at our table now tearing into a bread roll, both of us watching for Emma to come in. I had used magic to change our clothes so we didn't stick out in the bougie restaurant. Emma showed up fashionably late, as usual for her, and went over to a table where a man was sitting alone with two glasses of wine in front of him. He gave me the ick on sight, just as Peter Pan had over a year ago when I'd first seen him in Neverland, and decided we were going to make our move as soon as he was gone.
They had almost finished their food by the time ick-man left. Killian and I got up, looking like we were just heading to the restroom to anyone who may have been watching. A waitress had walked over to Emma and ick-man's table to remove their plates. Killian passed by the waitress, bumping against her and causing her to lose balance on the tray she was holding, dropping the plates on the ground with a clatter and commotion. Emma bent down to help the woman clean up the mess, checking to make sure she and Killian were both alright. While she and everyone else were distracted I passed by her table and dumped the potion into her wine glass, quickly walking away. I flicked my finger and the glass twirled, mixing the liquid so nobody would be able to tell by looking at it anything was different. In the year I'd been in the Enchanted Forest my magic skills had only improved, and as I'd proved twice now, my magic was working, not bound as it had been when Rumple had brought magic to Storybrooke after Emma broke The Curse - the 1st curse.
After the debacle with the waitress and Killian Emma straightened up and downed the rest of her drink. I took a deep breath as I circled her table and watched as the realization set in. I sat down across from her, her date still nowhere to be found, and our eyes met and I watched hers fill with tears as it dawned on her who I was, who we were to each other. The potion had worked, she remembered. "Hannah?" She whispered, nearly overcome. I told her yes it was me, and I was so sorry it had taken me this long to get back to her but we didn't have a lot of time before her date got back - Killian had promised to give me as much time as he could and would keep the man away from the table until I had a chance to speak with her - but we needed to talk. We agreed to meet tomorrow at her place once Henry was at school for the day.
I got up and she stood up with me, as if she didn't want to see me go, but I promised her we'd see each other tomorrow. I even told her Hook and I were staying at Neal's old place so she could come find me if she wanted between now and then. She pulled me into a hug and I hugged her back tightly before telling her to enjoy her date and that I'd see her tomorrow, leaving the restaurant and meeting Killian out front on the sidewalk. He asked me how it went and I told him it went well, the potion had worked and she had her memories back, and caught him up on the plan as I walked us into an alley and, checked to be sure there were no prying eyes about, teleported us both back to Neal's old place.
