"Anabelle," I heard my father calling. I was in my room, sat on the floor and painted the landscape of the court with my pencils that I had received for my 5th birthday. I got up silently and ran down the stairs of the old, abandoned house, with the only familiarity my father raising me here. My father sat in the living room, which was decorated with old books about the magic of the country, diaries of old relatives, paintings of the kings and a thousand other things that my father had kept. He looked at me with his green eyes. I had these eyes from him.
I had everything from him, sometimes I wondered if that was the reason why father didn't like me. "My child, I decided to do something," he said, his facial expression didn't reveal anything, he just stared at me. I shook on my feet, still too young to understand what my father was going to do. His hand was on my forehead, his eyes were closed and his mouth opened slowly. "May the right one come for you, you go away and never return. In 4,444 days he will be on your doorstep, all your worries disappear and you will turn your back."

His words sounded like a wish from him, but it felt like a curse.
A curse from one of the books from our bookshelf.
A curse that just sounded to me according to his wish.
A curse that should be one, but sounded like a fairy tale where the prince was waiting for his princess.
A curse like his greatest wish.
My heart twitched, started beating faster.

From that moment on, everything was different.
