CHAPTER IV

With my feet still glued to the ground, the breeze suddenly turned into a strong wind. I had to admit that I was more of a cold person but with the uniform I had to wear for the internship, I was having a rough time. I didn't have a thermometer around me or something like that, but I was 100% sure that the temperature was lowering, immovable, the only thing I could do was stand there and wait to freeze to death. -Is this going to really be my end? -I thought, I didn't even know what was happening in here and how I got in.

I looked down trying to think how I could get out of here. I closed my eyes as I was guessing the wisest choice, then I opened them back and saw some slowly footprints forming on the dusty ground. As if it was magic, I was able to move again. I wasn't sure if i should follow the mysterious marks but I had no better option. They might help me to find a way out.

While I was walking behind I remembered about the flower the minor gave me, I had totally forgotten about it even when I was holding it in my hand the whole time. With the indecision of keeping it or throwing it away. I failed to notice that the footprints had stopped. I abruptly stumbled on a wall or that's what I believed it was, until I watched back. What was in there wasn't a wall, it was in fact a floating mirror.

The frame was quite peculiar, it was made out of wood with some strange shapes resembling a type of leaf that enveloped the whole mark all painted with a lovely metallic gold color. I stared at the reflection but for some reason I wasn't in there like if I was invisible. This thought hit back in my brain and kept me in some deep thoughts. I was starting to disassociate, thinking that nothing was real neither my surroundings nor myself.

I stared at the mirror for a long time while my mind stopped processing everything and little by little it was going to a white space. My whole body was getting lighter. Until then the mirror suddenly cracked. This brought me back into my senses and now I could actually see myself reflected on it.

I decided to step away since I was wasting my time. I turned around and then there it was, the tall shadow was standing in front of me. All my embodiment completely froze in there. His hand started to get closer and closer. I wanted to scream but my lungs didn't have enough strength to make a sound. His palm reached my forehead, it felt wrinkled and cold, like if it came from a dead body. With only one finger he laid his finger between my eyebrows and began to press it steadily. His black long finger began to cross my skin.

I stepped back and walked a few steps backwards but I crashed with the mirror. The mysterious thing mimicked me and marched forward to reach me again. I decided to confront it, I just needed to know how. He stretched his arm one more time and I was arching my back down to avoid being caught. It was then when I saw an object shining under the mirror. I instantly ducked over and rolled under the glass. When I was reaching the other side, I noticed the bright thing was actually a clean knife.

When I went under the mirror, the silhouette got a little confused and that's when my instinct told me to stab. I pressed the weapon as hard as I could against the mirror, breaking it completely and revealing the black thing starting to become smoke. After all of it dispersed, right behind me a light was blinking. Right after another a lot of light bulbs began to work again. All of them were in a single line making a path. Something deep inside me told me to follow it, and so I did.
