"C'mon gene! I promise the water is not cold." Penelope yells from the pond.
We found it just a couple of miles away from our camping spot. There are quite a few people here besides us.
"Yeah? Tell that to Niall." I point at Niall who's squealing like a girl cos Louis is dragging him into the Lake.
"Come here or I'll do the same to you!" Louis shouts and I can hear Niall screaming.
"Just jump! It's not that cold." Harry shouts.
I look at Louis and Niall, then at Penelope who's gesturing me to come in then at Harry who's giving me two thumbs up.
"Fine." I sigh.
I go ten steps back.
"If I'm gunna do this, then I might as well do it my way." I whisper.
"Cannon ball!!" I run and jump.
I splash water on everyone.
"Fuck! It's cold! Oh god." I come up and breathe.
I can hear everyone laughing and I laugh with them too.
Once you're in, the water doesn't feel very cold.
I swim around for a while, alone.
Liam, Niall and Louis are busy with whatever they're doing. Flirting with girls.
I am not surprised to see Penelope and Zayn cuddling in a corner. I can't see Harry.
Where'd he go?
I scan the water carefully. Jeez, I didn't expect these many people here. I thought I'd be much more quiet.
"Hey."
A guy taps on my shoulder. He's got Brunette, short hair. Not very short.
Wow who's he?
"Hi." I smile and frown. I don't recognise him at all. Does he know me?
"I'm Ashton."
"Eugene."
"Are you here alone, Eugene?"
"Oh no, I'm here with my friends over there." I point.
"Ah..You guys here for a vacation or something?"
"Yeah we're just here for a couple of days. You?"
"Me and my mates as well. Our camp is just a few minutes away."
"Ours too."
"Really? Why don't you guys..umm come over tonight? We would love to have some company." He grins.
What's with the boys grinning and smirking?!
"Sure."
Wishing him farewell I swim back to the boys. I tell them about Ashton and his friend inviting us over.
"Um guys, where's Harry?" I finally ask.
"He was just here, I swear." Liam looks surprised.
"Anyways, I'm done. I'm gunna head back to the camp."
"Oh okay. We'll be out soon."
"Alright." I grab my jacket, boots and towel.
Putting them on I head off.
I dress up quickly in my tent and lay back. Burring my eyes in my book.
This book is so good. I'm glad I started reading this. It's called 'The Fill-in Boyfriend'. Nellie has been taking about it so I guess it was about time I pick up my own and start going on it.
I wander my eyes away from the book to look outside the tent. I see Harry, all wet, only in his tanks walking over. He's got a lot of tattoos. Obviously I've never seen them before except the ones on his arm.
The door as we say of the tent is open so I can see him clearly and I think he can too.
"Gene?" He bends and peeps in.
"Hey!" I try to act normal.
Put on a fucking shirt styles *_*
"Why'd you come back so soon?" He pushes his wet hair back.
"I think you should put a shirt on. You'd catch cold." I ignore what he said completely.
"I'll just get in." He steps inside my tent.
Umm..okay.
I scoot a little.
"I was looking for ya."
He smells so good.
"You were? I couldn't see you anywhere."
He and I are sat quite close or maybe it's just the size of the tent.
"I was with Lads for a while then I just kinda went for a swim. When I came back you were gone."
Every word he speaks is so clear and slow. I try and avoid staring at his lips. They're so pink and he keeps licking them.
"Where's Liam and the boys?"
"Liam, Louis and Niall have gone fishing. I dunno about Zayn and Penelope."
"Why didn't you go?"
"I'm not..fishing kinda guy."
"Then what kinda guy are you, Harry?" I ask out of curiosity.
He just laughs softly.
"Why do you..nothing."
"What?"
"Nothing really, it's nothing."
"Now that you've started it, you have to say it."
"I was just wondering why are you always alone? Like last night, you were sitting there all by yourself. At Liam's Party, you came alone then today you went for a swim, again, alone. Why?"
"I like it when there's no one around. I can have sometime for myself to think."
"Think about what?"
"Everything." He shrugs,
"You wanna hear something?"
"Sure."
He quickly gets up and runs out of the tent. A few seconds later he comes back with his guitar.
He's gonna play for me?!
I hug my knees to my chest and rest my cheek on them.
He starts strumming. I don't recognise the song at first but as the melody starts to build up I get the hint.
Then he starts singing.
(Play Song)

Paint splattered teardrops on my shirt,
Told you I'd let them go,
And that I'll fight my corner,

After my blood turns into alcohol,

"Good night and joy be with you all..."
He stretches the note at the end and laughs, making me laugh with him.
I stare at his lips, then dimple.
Before I know it I scoot close to him and kiss him on the lips. I back away quickly.
His expression is unreadable.
I can't tell if he's surprised or confused or disgusted.
What? What?! I scream in my mind after realising what I just did.
"I'm sorry! I..ugh I" I scratch my head, "I'm sorry, I'm gunna go find Nellie and Zayn. I..yeah I'm gonna go." I quickly get up and start walking fast. I really don't know where I'm heading but anywhere would be fine as long as I'm far from here.
"Shit. Shit!! Shit shit shit!" I squeal putting my hands on my eyes.
"What is wrong with you?! Why would you even do that!" I yell at myself.
"Oh god! Why? Why did you have to do that? Why Eugene?" I whisper.
He was being so nice to me and I had to go on and mess everything up. He obviously doesn't see me that way! Now everything is gunna be so awkward. He would think I'm some desperate-for-love chick!
I fall on the ground, cursing myself. I'm not sure for how long I stay there like that. One thing washing over my mind again and again,
What he must think of me?
