"YOU WERE SEEN BY NO LESS THAN SEVEN MUGGLES!" Snape furiously slammed down a newspaper about our flying car at King's Cross Station to reveal his enraged face. "Do you have any idea how serious this is? You have risked the exposure of our world. Not to mention the damage you inflicted on a Whomping Willow that's been on these grounds since before you were born!"

After the car had driven back into the woods, we tried to make our way to the Great Hall but a very pleased Filch found us and promptly delivered us to Professor Snape. My palms began to sweat as I thought about the consequences of what had happened. Not only would we be expelled from Hogwarts, but Mum would most certainly make sure we had an early grave. I glanced between Ron and Harry who both seemed equally as concerned.

"Honestly, Professor Snape, I think it did more damage to us." Ron tried to plead with him. I quickly elbowed him in the ribs, knowing Snape would never sympathize with us.

"Silence!" His greasy black hair waved in front of his furrowed brow and his dark eyes almost seemed to have a fire ablaze in them. "I assure you that were you in Slytherin and your fate rested with me, all three of you would be on the train home tonight! As it is." I attempted to swallow but found my throat was quite dry.

"They are not." Spoke a calm and level voice from behind us. We turned to see Professor Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall standing in the doorway, both wearing stern expressions on their faces.

"Professor Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall." Harry glanced between them; clearly glad they had come to our aid (hopefully).

"Headmaster, these three have flouted the Decree for the Restriction of Underaged Wizardry. As such..."

"I'm well aware of our bylaws, Severus, having written more than a few myself." Dumbledore cut him off. "However, as Head of Gryffindor House, it is for Professor McGonagall to determine the appropriate action.

"We'll go and get our stuff then." Ron slumped, knowing they were done for.

"What are you talking about, Mr. Weasley?" McGonagall asked him, confused.

"You're going to expel us, aren't you?" Ron looked up at her with a glimmer of hope in his eyes.

"Not today, Mr. Weasley." I released a breath I didn't even know I had been holding. "But I must impress upon the three of you the seriousness of what you have done. I will be writing to your families tonight. And you will all receive detention." McGonagall drew her lips together in an expression of disappointment.
