LISA (2,5 years ago)

Annoyed, I adjusted the dress as it fell elegantly over my body and then looked back into the mirror. My blonde, long hair lay slightly wavy over my back, which was covered by delicate cords. The white dress fit my body perfectly and would turn some heads. Just like my father wanted. He wanted me to get married when I was 20 years old. But I wasn't ready yet. I wasn't made to marry a boy. First of all, I wanted to earn my own money, build my own life and not have to worry about a man.

"Are you ready?" My mother came into her dressing room and looked at me. "You look beautiful, Lalisa." She smiled and looked at me closely.

"Thanks, Mom." I gave her a smile and then put on the white high heels before I went downstairs to the front door with my mother. My father straightened his tie and examined me with satisfaction.

"My most beautiful daughter." He put his hand around my waist and his other hand around my mother's.

"Your only one." I laughed softly and grabbed the handle of the car door to open it for my parents.

They sat down and moved through, so I sat down next to them and sighed quietly. We were driving to a ball that was also a fundraising gala and on which all important women and men were. So it was just a meeting for rich people, so that everyone could show each other how much he owned. A clown event.

Of course I would never say something like that out loud, I had too much respect for my parents. When the door was opened for me I got out of the black limousine and walked past the snapping cameras. A couple of people shouted questions at me, which I deliberately ignored, feeling the embarrassed blush that spread to my cheeks. One should think that over the years I wasn't afraid of cameras, but in fact I didn't like being photographed by cameras and having questions shouted at me. It was always about my parents' wealth through their buying and selling of houses. Apartments and villas earned a lot of money. I walked through the doors that were opened for me and entered the music-warming building.

As if by itself, a smile appeared on my lips and my body relaxed. It was a natural reaction on my part. I've been going to events like this since I was little and was used to standing among people and adapting. I looked around the room and saw a few glances being thrown my way. I showed a little too much skin for such an event, but my father was happy. I didn't worry about it anymore. I had to admit that I always cared more about my father's attention than my mother's. Maybe just because she gave me so much and he gave me so little.

My gaze stopped on a sexy, intimating woman who didn't fit into the picture at all. I furrowed my eyebrows, looked at my parents and then back at the woman I didn't know. As if she sensed my gaze, her eyes raced to me, taking in every little bit of my body. She raised an eyebrow and put the champagne glass to her lips before putting it down and walking towards me and my parents with calm steps.

"Jennie Kim." My father stepped in front of me and offered his hand to the emotionless woman.

My breath hitched and my eyes closed widened a little. The Jennie Kim? Jennie's gaze was fixed on me.

"And you are?" Her deep seductive voice gave me slight goosebumps, which she noticed immediately.

Her eyes were like those of a predator that had found its next prey. But the woman was truly a predator. Jennie Kim was known for her criminal activities but no one could prove it to her. She had the city on her strings like a puppet. My father would welcome marriage with her. He didn't believe the rumors, which is why he approached Jennie in a friendly manner. I, on the other hand, was skeptical. Stories and rumors didn't just happen invented. There was always some truth in them.

"Lalisa Manoban." I smiled slightly and offered her my hand, which she immediately accepted. Her rough thumb slid over the back of my hand and made me jump.

Did she want to make me more obvious in front of my parents? She probably did that with every woman. At least that's what she looked like. She was the most beautiful woman I had ever laid eyes on. Her jet-black hair was slightly scattered over her head and her green eyes captivated everyone. She had striking, hard features and looked like a woman who knew what she wanted and who got what she wanted. I removed my hand from her and looked at my father, who looked satisfied.

"Are you dancing, Ms. Manoban?" She tilted her head slightly but did not lose the coldness of her expression.

"She really likes dancing."

My father looked at me sternly, so I nodded with a smile and accepted Jennie Kim's hand. Her other hand placed on my waist. I placed mine on her shoulder and looked up at her. Her body was strong and tempted you to imagine yourself naked in front of her, but I quickly pushed those thoughts away. A small grin appeared on her lips. As if she knew what I was thinking. Did she know? She probably knew that she was seductive to every woman. I didn't even want to know how many women she already had in her bed and how many more were coming. Her hand slid shut my back, on my bare skin. I swallowed and felt my breathing stop briefly.

"I should go back to my parents now."

I broke away from the woman, who seemed dissatisfied, and I gave her one last smile before I went to my parents. They were chatting excitedly with some people, who appeared to be interested in a building.
