LISA
I stared at Jennie with huge eyes who pointed the gun at another person. I wanted to say something, but also didn't want to betray my position. I quietly crawled around a huge wooden box that could easily contain a sarcophagus. It was quiet in the warehouse and only breathing could be heard.
Swallowing, I sat on the other side, sitting almost directly behind Amadeus' corpse. He had a gun in his hand that I wanted to get to. Suddenly a shot rang out. My body jumped in shock and my eyes shot open. Every muscle seemed frozen and my breath stopped for a moment. Irene's father fell to the ground. My heart stopped before echoing rapidly through the room. Two guns were pointed at Jennie and I almost had a gun too and had to kill someone.
"Where is the bitch?" Irene asked annoyed and wiped the tears from her face, which were probably directed at her father.
My hand gripped the barrel of the gun and I quickly pulled it towards me. I didn't even know how to use a gun. I only knew it from movies and therefore could only imagine how I had to shoot. I stood up slowly, but was still hidden behind the huge wooden box. The gun was aimed at the son of Amadeus, so I narrowed my eyes too, pulled the trigger and felt my entire body convulse. The first tears gathered in my eyes. The shot echoed through the hall and bounced off the walls. One person fell to the ground.
"Bitch." Suddenly another shot rang out and a stabbing pain spread through my arm.
I only vaguely noticed the second shot. It became quiet and another person fell to the floor. I didn't open my eyes. I just noticed a slight pain in my arm. That would probably hurt much worse if I wasn't in so much shock.
"Lalisa." A pleasant, warm voice echoed to me and gave me goosebumps. Something was wrapped around my arm.
"A bullet shot." She murmured. I was lifted up and pressed against a chest in which I hid my head.
"Everything will be okay." Jennie breathed in my ear and kissed my cheek.
It wasn't until we were in the car that my breathing calmed down. The pain became more intense and my eyes opened again. Gasping, I stared at my arm.
"Oh God." I hissed and looked over at Jennie, who gave me a warm smile.
"You're so brave." Her hand took mine and folded them together gently.
My eyes flew to our hands and warmth spread through my chest. We stopped in front of a huge white building. The hospital. I sighed. Two arms wrapped around my body and lifted me out of the car.
"What about the corpses?" I sniffled, feeling every step her body took.
"I'll contact Louis right away. He'll send men there." She murmured, calling one of the nurses in the waiting area.
"She was shot." She swallowed and looked at the woman who was holding me in her arms.
She nodded and made a sign that we should follow her. I was placed on a lounger in a white room. My gaze slid into Jennie's eyes. She was worried, but she still smiled at me reassuringly.
"I'm going to make a quick call." She murmured and gave me a kiss on the forehead before disappearing from the room.
"You're the woman from the newspaper." The nurse stuttered. I simply nodded and stared at the door.
"Is she forcing you to do it?" She whispered, pure fear reflected in her eyes.
"No." I said, although that wasn't entirely the truth, because at the beginning she had definitely forced me to do it, but everything had has changed. I heard the door open and noticed the woman in front of me jump.
"That needs surgery." She gave me painkillers and a glass of water.
"I'll talk to the doctors. I think you can have surgery tonight. I cleaned the wound and stopped the bleeding, now I'm taking her to a room." She glanced at the mafia boss, who nodded to herself and came to me. I swallowed the pills and looked into Jennie's cat eyes.
"How are you?" She asked and stroked my cheek with her index finger. I smiled gently and placed my lips on hers for a brief moment.
"It still hurts, but otherwise I'm fine."
