It's been a week since I've been inside and all I can't think about is getting out , the hours are going by slowly and the minutes are dragging by . I'm sick of these magnolia coloured walls , the same dam ugly outfits , my hair looking the same , it's driving me insane .
"What's up?" Alex asked
"I'm about to lose my mind , I don't think I can't handle this any longer !" I said running my hands through my hair
"Trust me the first few weeks are always hard but it gets better" she smiled
"One question , how does everyone's hair always look so flawless?" I asked
"Oh Sophia does it for most people"
"I have to find this Sophia and get a new hairstyle or I will get sent to psych " I laughed leaving the cube
I don't even know who Sophia is , or what she even looks like but I'm sure I will find her somewhere .
"Poussey , who's Sophia and where can I find her?" I asked as I poussey walked by me in the corridor
"Straight down , take a left and she's the second door on the right"
"Thanks" I smiled
I don't even know what I'm going to say to this girl to get her to do my hair or if she will even do it but I have to feel like me again , I have to feel pretty for even 5 minutes . I found the door and chapped it , walking in and there was morello sitting in the seat with a women standing behind her .
"Dana , hi , what you doing here?" Morello asked
"To get my hair done , hopefully " I smiled
"Well you came to right place , take a seat dear" the women that was doing Morellos hair said
I sat on the seat beside morello and watched as who I am assuming is Sophia , do Morellos hair .
"I'm Sophia , nice to meet you so since you are new and all , I will do your hair for nothing this time , next time I need something in return . What were you thinking about?" Sophia asked as she finished up with morello
"Something different , I need to feel pretty again" I said truthfully
"The prison can get you down when you are new but you will get used to it , how long you in for ?" Sophia asked as I moved into the seat morello was sitting in
"3 years , 2 and a half with good behaviour" I said
"It will fly by , trust me. Your hair looks naturally wavy so I was thinking , short to give it some volume ?" Sophia asked
"You seem like the hairdresser , do what ever you want" I said

An hour and a half later and I feel like a women again , Sophia is one talented women . We spoke about both of our lives , about her becoming the real her , we also spoke about my sexuality and I felt like I could open up to her , she was so sweet and genuine and I looked up to her in such a short time .
"I don't know why but there's another visiting hour today and you have 3 visitors" Bennett said as i walked out the so called 'salon'
"Thanks" I smiled
"You changed your hair" Bennettsaid
"Sure did , I had to do something to make me feel good again" I smiled
John and I walked to the visitors room . I thought there was only one visitation a week but I guess I was wrong . As I stepped into the room i saw my mom, Brie and Sandra . I wonder how she got them to agree to this .
"Hello" I smiled as I sat down across from them
"You changed your hair , how?" Brie asked
"Sophia , she does people's hair and we pay her " I said
"Your hair was lovely the way it was " my mother said no emotion at all
"It was either this or shave it , I thought you would have been happy with this mom" I smirked
"How dare you speak to mom like that , you have embarrassed our whole family , the people at the church look at us likes we are murderers and people in the town look at us in disgust" my sister Sandra said
"I'm sorry I ruined your perfect reputation , but you're the town slut so most the blames on you" I laughed
"Don't speak to your sister that way" my mom said raising her voice
"Oh but she can blame me for the looks people give her ? She has slept with mostly every male in that town , including the priest , she has no right to judge anyone" I laughed
"I knew this was a bad idea" Sandra groaned
"Then leave and run back to you perfect little life " I scoffed
"What happened to you , ever since you turned 17 , you messed up your life . You are a disgrace to anyone , you ruin everyone's lives that you know, you stupid bitch " Sandra said raising her voice so other inmates and visitors could hear
"I'm in here paying for my mistakes . I could have ran but I decided to stay and deal with what was coming . You have no right to criticise me for my choices when you are the one sleeping with anyone who will bed you . Don't go judging others when your are dirty slut" I shouted
"Quill , tone it down now!" Bennett shouted
"You are nothing but a little dyke ! You are an embarrassment to anyone's life" Sandra shouted as she stood up
"I couldn't give a shit if I am a dyke , at least my partners stick around , they don't just bed me and leave" I shouted
"Quill, last warning!" Bennett shouted
"You are dead to me" Sandra said storming out the room
By now my adrenaline was pumping , I wanted to run after her and hit her head off of walls , and stick my fist in her face . I was shaking with anger and I knew if someone said one more word to me I would flip
"Calm down" Brie said "don't" she said silencing my mom from speaking
I tried to calm down but I couldn't . I got up from the table knocking chair over and ran out the visitors room . I punched the wall and I kept punching it but still no anger was disappearing . How dare she fucking judge me , how dare she use my sexuality against me .
"Wow , calm down or you're going to get sent to psych" someone said placing there hands on my shoulders and I felt a little as ease
I knew the person was Stella because I knew the accent straight away .
"What's wrong?" She asked as I turned
"My sister , it doesn't matter , a conversation for another time" I said walking away
I feel like every time Stella comes near me I leave , maybe it's because every time she touches me or smiles at me I get these butterflies in my stomach and it's a foreign feeling . I don't know how else to explain it but it's new and its scary .

Fuck if that was my sister in prison or not I would have smacked her about !!
