I had just gotten dressed when Rin came and knocked on my door. I opened it and glared at him, "yes?" He looked really excited for some reason. I noticed Yukio standing behind him smiling. This was weird-

Rin held something out for me, and I looked at it. A sword, similar to his. I took it from his hands and looked it over. The scabbard was plain black, with the sageo being a dark blue color, the wrap around the handle was also the same dark blue. Dangling from the top was a green charm, almost exactly the same one Rin had on his.

"Go on, pull the sword out." Rin said excitedly. As I pulled the blade out, I could hear the metal make a "shing" noise. The blade itself was the same as any normal katana blade. "Is it mine?" I asked.

Rin rolled his eyes, "of course it's yours! If I get a sword then you should have one too!" I grinned looking down at the sword that was now mine. "Oh, and Yukio helped as well." I smiled at Yukio, "you probably paid for it right? Thanks."

Yukio just shrugged, "As long as you keep it in the bag Rin has his in, and don't pull it out in class unless needed, I don't mind." Rin flashed me a big smile, "I have enough room I can carry it around for you."

"Are you sure? Won't two swords be heavy?" Rin just slung the bag holding his sword off his shoulder and held it open. I looked at it, the bag was big enough to fit two swords although it was made for one. "Thank you." I said, handing him the sword. His excitement to give me the blade just made me even happier. "Let's go, class is starting soon." Yukio said.

...

I glared at Rin. He was sitting beside me in class sleeping, and drooling. "Okumura!" The teacher yelled. Rin jolted awake, "Sukiyaki!" he yelled. I shook my head, "Dumbass."

"If you don't intend to pay attention, you're free to leave anytime." The teacher scolded. "Sorry..." The teacher continued the lesson and Rin stared intently at his schoolbook. I could feel someone staring, both me and Rin turned around.

Great it was the kid with bleached hair, he looked like he hated Rin from the get-go, and since I'm always around him I'm pretty sure he hated me as well. Rin just stared cluelessly at the boy, even after he mouthed "piss off."

I laughed a little, Rin didn't have the brains to know why that kid hated him, let alone know how to read lips. I had tried countless times to help Rin with school but failed each time. Yukio had tried before me and failed as well; Rin was completely hopeless in academics.

Rin looked back to the front with a smug grin on his face. He was definitely talking to himself. He started grinning like an idiot and laughing. "Okumura!" the teacher yelled.

I scooted farther towards the aisle, maybe next class I'd sit alone in the back. I'm surprised Shiemi wasn't embarrassed to sit with us.

By the next class Rin had once again fallen asleep. It took me a while to sleep at night and often I would wake up from nightmares but at least I paid attention in class. But maybe Rin had nightmares as well, so I couldn't entirely judge him.

Finally, we were in Yukio's class. Rin had fallen asleep in every class and gotten scolded every time. Rin laughed at Shiemi who had just received a bad grade on her test. I felt bad for her, she would have gotten all of them correct if she used their correct names and not ones she made up.

"Okumura!" Yukio said. Yikes, Rin was going to be in trouble. I burst out laughing when Yukio showed Rin his test. "How can you even get that terrible of a grade?!" Rin just stared at his paper. I continued to laugh until I realized everyone was watching us. "Sorry." Rin muttered.
