Why me?

Chapter 5

My friends were so happy to be going home, they just couldn't wait. They kept on talking about the stories they will be telling people at home.

'But, what are we going to tell Kat's mom and brother, Noma, and Lerato?' Faith asked.

And it was silent as we exhaled out loudly all together.

'Are you coming with us?' Faith continued.

The heart can lead you to where you never pictured yourself, there I was, wanting to follow what the heart desires because everything felt good. I cleared my throat and looked darely at my friends, and I shook my head.

'You're in love with him, I know.' Faith said.

'Your mom?' Makhi asked.

I lifted up my shoulders.

'We'll come up with something, do what you think is best for you.' Faith said.

She was so supportive, and she caressed my hand.

'I'm staying here, I'll come home if things don't work out.' I said.

'I doubt, Richard is quite a fine man and gentle too.' Faith said, and we all giggled.

'Let's go inside to prepare.' Faith said, and she held both our hands and we went inside.

While they packed, I went to Richard's room. Finding him sitting at his table going through the news paper, and I approached him as I stood before him.

'I've made my decision, I want to stay and give us a chance. I'll leave knowing it failed, I want to explore what its like to have a wild heart.' I said, and he looked at me as he even put away the news paper he had in his hands.

'I'm staying here with you.' I continued.

In a moment of time, he hugged me and toiled me around. And the first thing he did when he put me down was to kiss me, so I might be getting married. Why not? If I die, I'll know I died following my heart.

I heard my friends loudly clear their throats, and I turned to them. They were ready to go, it was in the meantime after all. Richard let go of me as he looked sincerely at my friends like he was about to apologize. 

'Richard, I'm watching you.' Faith said.

And Richard giggled as Makhi just waved.

'I'll walk them out.' I said.

I walked my friends out as we were outside I gave them big hugs, the guards looked too emotional, they weren't even paying much attention.  As I had just hugged Makhi, we heard loud footsteps and it started to become dusty like a tornado was taking place amd I felt someone carry me from behind and started running and in a blink of an eye I was kidnapped. I screamed as I watched the guards try to do something but I was already on the back of the horse heading somewhere.

'Desmond!' I heard Richard exclaim loudly.

DESMOND.
