Trigger warnings: Blinding ig?, electrocution

"Why are you doing this, Test Tube?"

The question took the vial by surprise. She looked over at Lightbulb, who was blankly staring at her and waiting for an answer.

"What do you mean?"

"You know what I mean. We used to be friends! We were flying buddies! Now you're hurting us and making us do weird stuff. Why?"

Test Tube stared at Lightbulb blankly. She decided to just ignore the question as she went back to setting up the telescope. She'd dragged Baseball and Lightbulb back up to the surface for their second experiment, deep into the woods near the old season 2 set, so that nobody would find them.

"Now, both of you will simply look through this telescope and tell me what you see."

"How is this even an experiment?" Baseball questioned.

"It's to test your eyesight and observational skills." Test Tube snapped back. "Lightbulb, you're first. Come look through the telescope."

Lightbulb walked over to the telescope and put her eye up to the lens. Test Tube pulled out her notepad to write down what Lightbulb described.

"...There's, uh.. clouds. A lot of them. And they're grey."

"And?"

"And that's it. I don't see anything else."

Test Tube wrote down what she said. "Okay. Baseball, do the same thing." She said, flipping to a different page.

Lightbulb stepped away from the telescope and let Baseball look through it.

"Grey clouds." He repeated blankly.

Test Tube wrote that down as well. She suddenly got an idea, which seemed more like an intrusive thought than anything. She had no clue what compelled her to do this, but she acted on it anyway. She grabbed the telescope and abruptly turned it towards the sun. Baseball instantly screamed in pain and pulled away from the lens.

"AUGH- WHAT THE HEL???"

Lightbulb stared at him in horror and disgust for Test Tube, who was also staring at him. She ran over to Baseball and helped him keep his balance, which he was struggling to do. Test Tube pulled a remote out of her pocket and pressed a yellow button on it, electrocuting Lightbulb. She also screamed in pain and fell backwards. She lit up in response to the sudden electricity, and her tail sparked more.

"Don't interfere." Test Tube warned.

After coming back down to the lab a bit later, Test Tube brought Baseball to a surgical room to check on his eye

After coming back down to the lab a bit later, Test Tube brought Baseball to a surgical room to check on his eye. She decided he was fine physically (albeit blind in that eye) and sent him back to the room with Lightbulb.

"Are you alright??" She asked. "Your eye doesn't look too good.."

"Well, Test Tube said it's fine, but I can't see out of it and it's still a bit sore.." Baseball responded tiredly.

They both sat there in silence for several moments.

"I just remembered something..." Lightbulb said grimly.

"Hm?"

"I was supposed to go hang out with Painty yesterday. And instead, I was in this room.." Lightbulb started tearing up. "I miss them. I hope they don't think I ditched them on purpose..."

"...Do you think they're looking for us?" Baseball asked.

"Maybe. They might just think we went somewhere and forgot to tell anyone.."

"And both of our phones died." Baseball chuckled. Lightbulb weakly laughed at the comment as well. "I hope Nickel's not too worried.." He said, a bit more somberly. He thought for a moment and decided reminiscing on some old memories could help. "Remember the Spoiled Lemon concert? Dude was dripped out."

"Heh yeah, how'd he get all that stuff, anyway?" Lightbulb asked.

"He scalped the ticket online." Baseball answered. "I wonder what happened to the stuff he bought, I haven't seen him wear any of it since."

"Hm." Lightbulb thought for a moment. "I remember one time me n' Painty were making some food and I ended up burning the water."

Baseball instantly burst out laughing at that. "How the hell did you burn water??"

Lightbulb also started laughing. "I dunno, it just caught on fire somehow!"

They continued to share old stories for a little bit, laughing at how stupid some of them were. It felt nice to think about when their lives were normal, even for just a few minutes.

Baseball sighed happily, then a thought seemed to make him a bit upset again.

"I miss our friends.."

They sat there for a moment, letting Baseball's words sink in.

"I like to think they're all looking for us right now," Lightbulb began. "And then in a day or two they'll find out we're down here, and they'll break in and we'll all be so happy to see each other. And we can go back up to the hotel and they'll lock Test Tube's butt up in the clink. And then we can be happy again." She smiled at Baseball.

Baseball smiled back at her. "That... helps."
