One of us is lying
In his lonely bed
Staring at the ceiling
Wishing he was somewhere else instead."

Y/N sits at the breakfast table, boredly reading something Susan had showed her, as she bites into a piece of toast.

For the well being of their friendship, Y/N merely fakes amazement, "I had no clue Ernie could be so... romantic."

Susan nods, cherishing the paper note said boy had written on, "I know, it's absolutely perfect. He said he'd like to see me during holiday break, if my parents allowed it."

This, however, did make Y/N present a genuine smile to her friend, "That's wonderful, Susan. I'm glad you've found someone so soon."

"You act is if you don't have all those boys attached to you like dogs," Susan voices her alarming opinion.

Y/N chokes on her toast for a moment, spitting it out quickly, "What?"

"Those boys; Cedric, the Slytherins. They simply all watch you as if you were the best thing to have ever entered the world. I need someone who'll look at me the same way, which Ernie does. You, however, completely choose to ignore their affections, but whatever. You're too much like your cat. You'll only care for the love given by the set few you love and truly admire. Otherwise, you'll become annoyed or ignore others," Susan explains, using a perfectly good example of who Y/N relates to the most.

Akari adds something of substance to their conversation, "Your cat likes me."

"Really?" Y/N completely ignores Susan and pays her full attention to Akari, making Susan give her a knowing smile Y/N can see from the corner of her eyes.

Akari nods, "I may have fed him some leftovers I'd gathers, so that might be why."

"Oh, well thank you, I'm sure he fell in love at the first sight of the food," Y/N tries to lighten the mood.

Susan pulls Y/N away from Akari, who continues to converse with her twin, "Much like how you'll fall in love with anyone who so much as silently enjoys your company or agrees with your controversial opinions."

"I don't fall in love, ever. I'm only sixteen," Y/N gives Susan the meanest glare she can manage as Cedric sits next to Y/N again, in close proximity, one might add.

"Hello," His smile is innocent, but nervous, something odd for this particular male.

Y/N gives him a nod before picking up her piece of toast to eat again, as Susan gives a knowing look matched with a smirk before leaving the Hall, "Morning."

Cedric looks at Y/N in absolute awe, "Would it be awkward if I gave you my Christmas present in person? If I sent it to you, I wouldn't be able to see your reaction. Besides, we're leaving tomorrow. Sorry it's so last minute."

Y/N finishes her toast, nodding, before wiping her hands with the properness of a lady, "I'm sending mine over break, just so you know. I haven't yet found something so perfect or fitting for you yet."

"I appreciate your honesty with me," Cedric passes Y/N a Hufflepuff themed present box, which was perfectly tied.

Cedric urges Y/N to open it, and she can feel his head hovering just above her shoulder. Y/N looks over the box delicately; it was a hopeful looking box that only a mom could wrap to be so beautiful, or perhaps a man who had been trained by his mom. Y/N opens it, gracefully moving her fingers, leaving Cedric in pure awe of her. Y/N gently opens up the top of the box as Cedric finally leans down on her shoulder. Y/N removes the paper from the main item, which is a necklace of pure silver, with a small yellow jewel, which looked too authentic for Y/N's liking, as it meant this was truly worth a lot if it was the diamond she thought it to be.
