Her feet were like drums on the cold, wet forest ground as she ran. Her heart was racing faster than it had ever done in her entire life and the blood was rushing so loudly through her body that she could barely hear anything else.

She knew she was being chased. How could she not be? After what she had just done. What was that? Actually she was not sure but standing in the middle of twenty something dead children from different villages with blood covering her from head to toe she had gotten a pretty good idea.

Running was the only thing that seemed logical in that moment but she felt drained. Whatever she had done it had nearly emptied her chakra reserves.

She did not have any other choice than running though. After that the only thing that would have awaited her in the village would have been a death sentence.

God, she would forever remember the faces of all those people that had been watching her in that arena. The Chunin exams were supposed to be relativity peaceful...at least no one was supposed to die...especially not all of those that had made it to the last round.

She was not very surprised when one group of shinobi finally caught up to her but they made a mistake. They had forgotten one of her mightiest powers because Izanami came from a family that had spent centuries perfecting the art of absorbing chakra. Most people thought it was a gift but to her it had always been more of a curse. She was not able to fully control it and it came with some side effects.

She was still surprised to see that it was the head of the Nara-clan that had make this grave mistake. Rain was falling hard onto the ground. Drenching them both and slowly washing away the blood from the children.

He was hailed a genius by many and he should have known better than to cast his shadow-neck Binding technique on her. Sure it stopped her dead in her tracks and gave seven other shinobis from the hidden leaf village as well as the village hidden in the sand the opportunity to surround her but it also gave her the opportunity to close her eyes for a second and just like that with a bit of concentration she was able to wrap her own chakra around his and pull it right into her body.

"Goddamit," he said as he was slowly sinking to his knees. Izanami did not keep it in her body though. No she let it flow through her feet towards the other shinobis that were just about to attack when they realized what she was doing. But by the time they wanted to move it was already too late. Within seconds she had wrapped her new found chakra around their legs and was pulling as hard as she could.

"Don't do...this," Shikaku Nara gasped. Iza was surprised that he was still holding on. If he didn't let go soon, it would be the end of him.

"I don't know what happened...I didn't mean to...hurt...anyone," she said, " They'll kill me for what I've done." She tried hard to hold back tears. It was the moment that Shikaku finally collapsed unconscious in front of her that her breath hitched. A bright blue light appeared behind her and before she realized what was about to happen it was already done. She was struck through her right shoulder by a hand glazed with lightning. Another hand wrapped around her and guided her to the ground.

"I'm sorry," a familiar voice whispered into her ear. It was her best friend. Kakashi Hatake was holding her safely in her arms. Well with one hand stuck through her body. "Take it. Everyone is unconscious. Take my chakra until I pass out and run," he said hastily. She could not do that.

"No... they'll kill you," she whispered. The world around her got slowly darker. She was losing a lot of blood, though his hand inside her was probably the reason she was still alive.

"No they won't. There is a cliff near. Leave some chakra there, as big as you can muster and then jump. They'll think you died of your injuries and destroyed your body and then never come back." Izanami was no longer able to hold back tears but the rain washed them away as quickly as they had come.

"Okay." She whispered. Once more she closed her eyes. With him she was a lot softer than with the others. As her wound healed he pulled his hand out of her chest.

"Goodbye Iza," he whispered quietly just a moment before he collapsed onto the wet ground.

She ran after that.

She made it to the cliff and she followed the instructions that her best friend had given her but as she fell she spotted a strange thing at the top of the cliff. A man stood there but not a normal man. The edged of his body glimmered in a soft blue but he was gone as quickly as he had appeared. Moments later she hit the surface of the water.

Everything went dark.
