The next morning came quickly and Minho yawned as he stretched his little hospital bed, hoping to find Jisung beside him. But to his surprise the boy had already woken up and gone to his own bed, so the older got up as well to get comfortable for his next chemo session.
Despite all the pain and weakness Minho felt this morning, his eyes looking grey and tired, he couldn't help but hold a tiny smile at the thought of Jisung resting in his arms. On the other side of the room the brunette boy was smiling greatly at his laptop. His headphones blared loudly with music as he typed on the keyboard quickly. When he noticed that Minho was up he took the headphones off. "Good luck with your next treatment, Minho!" He said, holding a thumbs up to the boy wearing a beanie. The day went as any other day for Minho. Of course he wants to look strong for his new 'friend' but chemo treatments are far from easy. The chapped lips, aching weakness, the depressing thoughts of just wanting to leave this useless world, more hair loss...
Somehow Minho could bare the pain better then when he first started as a child, yet he could never bare the mental pain of losing his hair. To him it just shows his illness, and makes him lose any bit of pride the boy had.
His life is truly miserable...but then again..."Congratulations on your last chemo treatment, Minho!!!" Shouted jisung as the older walked through the room, weak and tired. Minho still smiled at Jisung to show the little bit of strength he had left. "You can lay down, I know you're probably so tired." Minho hummed while nodding and placing his beanie on the night stand beside his bed. He laid down, groaning as he got himself comfortable. The brunette stared at him while sitting crisscrossed on his own bed and smiled greatly. "What?" The older said with a small chuckle. "I got us these cool friendship bracelets!" Minho rolled his eyes sarcastically. "Oh yeah?.."
Jisung quickly grabbed a box and pulled out two bracelets. He walked over to Minhos bed and showed the bracelet. "It has a button that you press when you're thinking of the other person!" The older willingly held his wrist up and Jisung put the bracelet on him while smiling. "Now we are officially like.. bestest friends." Jisung said while chuckling.
Once the boy got back to his bed he felt his wrist vibrate immediately. When He looked down he saw his bracelet lighting up, which made him look over at Minho. "Is there a button that makes it stay on eternally?" He asked. Jisung couldn't help but widen his eyes and blush as he looked at Minho. "U-Uhm..I don't think so.." he replied while nervously laughing. The night went on and Minho slept peacefully in his bed. Jisung on the other hand was awake facing away from Minho, his thoughts racing.
These emotions he felt were something that he's never had to go Through.
Minho's smile replayed in his mind over and over again. His heart fluttered at Minhos remark from earlier. These unsettled emotions were overwhelming him. Of course he wanted to be his friend, but "is this really the feeling of having a friend?'' He thought to himself.
The brunette sighed before turning to his other side and watched Minho with awe.Jisung stretched before lifting his head tiredly and noticed Minho was gone from the room. He looked around confused because he knew that Minhos treatments were over, yet he was no where to be seen.
Soon enough the older boy walked in with a confused expression painted on his face. "H-hi Minho, where were you?" Jisung smiled. "Hey jisung.." Minho sat on his bed and looked down at his dangling feet. "The doctor needed to talk to me...I'm next on the waiting list, and they found a donor for me.." he said in a quiet tone. The brunette gasped and jumped out of bed. "Minho, That's awesome!!" He shouted.
"Yeah it is..but that's a lot to take in so suddenly." The older replied.
"I'm sure it is, but this could be so great for you!" Jisung made his way to sit beside Minho and patted his shoulder. "You're right, I've been waiting so long for this. I should call Yongbok and tell him." Minho whispered. The younger nodded and laughed because of the good news.
Minho called to tell his brother about the good news, and all three of the boys were overjoyed as they talked on the phone. "So when are they doing the transplant!?" Shouted Yongbok over the phone. "They want to give me at least this week to recover from my chemo treatment, next Friday is what they have scheduled." Replied the older. Yongbok sighed in relief, and at one point you could hear almost silent sobs coming from the other line. "I'm gonna call you later okay, Yongbok?" The boys said their goodbyes before finally hanging up.
