Its 4 A.M. but Ariyana hasnt slept yet. Mia, her stepsister, has thrown another party and Ariyana cant really say anything to her because well, its her house. She realised there's no point in trying to sleep anymore as she anyways has to wake up for her college in like 3 hours.
She wakes up and goes to her washroom to freshen up.
Arjun, her brother, who cant sleep either comes into her room.
Didi, i know Mia ka ghar hai but weekdays par bhi party kaun karta hai? usse nahi jaana college but hume toh kaam hai na?! , Arjun cried.
Ariyana has always tried to understand but even she was tired. She came to Arjun and explained him its okay and that it's just a matter of few years now then they will move out.
She then hugged her little brother and comforted him. It was a very cold mountains morning so Ariyana made chai for both of them while they reminisce and talk about their lives...
Backstory
When Ariyana was just 5 years old Anjali, her mother, cheated on her biological father, Vansh Mehrotra, with a then Delhi based businessman Rajvansh Grover. Anjali had always been absent from her children's life she wasn't a bad mother but for her having money, social respect and luxury was more important. So naturally both the kids were very close to their father. When Veer and Anjali started their divorce procedure, Anjali used Rajvansh's power and money to get the children's custody.
And as it is natural 'step' families aren't always the best. When Ariyana and Arjun shifted to the Mehrotra house, they obviously didn't feel welcomed. Their names were written in front of their house but not in the hearts of the members. Well, not all members, Rajvansh was a great stepfather he never differentiated between Mia & Maahir and Ariyana & Arjun. Maybe this was the reason why Mia and Maahir never liked Ariyana and Arjun. School was obviously difficult but when Rajvansh retired and they all shifted to Almora, things became better, As Ariyana found her best Friends in Almora Ariyana always tried to keep Arjun out of all this she always gets the taunts, scoldings, bullyings in the firsthand.
Things worsened after the birth Anjali and Rajvansh's son Raahil. Their mother, the only person they could call apna was now occupied with her newborn. The birth of Raahil alienated Ariyana and Arjun from their family as Anjali and Rajvansh started travelling with Raahil while just the 4 of them stayed at home. Thank god they can talk to their father because up until last year they couldn't.
Ariyana has tears in her eyes while talking about how their lives could have been had their mother never got the custody. Arjun patted her head and told, 'Arii, I'm proud of you and I know it must have been hard, but it'll get better'. he jokingly punched her shoulder and laughed, ' you are my Ironman Ari, and Ironman doesn't cry'. Ariyana laughed at her brother's cringey joke.
Just then Ariyana's Phone rang, of course it was Ruhaan. Ariyana picked up and Ruhaan without even saying Hi asked, 'Party all night again?'. He knew Ariyana too well so he knew she mustn't have slept.
Without answering she questioned him back, 'Didn't sleep again?' Both of them burst laughing.
Ruhaan's POV:
Ruhaan couldn't sleep again. He hardly remembers when was the last time he slept, probably before his father committed suicide in front of their eyes. His mother is traumatized since then, she didn't talk at all for the first couple of years but after shifting to Almora things got a little better. She feels better around her family and of course Ariyana and Arjun.
Backstory
Ruhaan was just 12 when this happened, Reyansh, his brother was 18. Reyansh has to step up and take care of everything. He had to grow up before his age. He took over their father's business while Ruhaan took care of their mother and sister, Riana who was just 2 at the time.
Reyansh drifted from his family. Ruhaan doesn't remember when he talked to his brother the last time. To further expand the business and for their mother's better recovery they shifted to Almora. Following which Reyansh got married and Misha bhabhi came into their lives. The whole atmosphere of the house changed when Misha bhabhi gave birth to the bundle of joys, Maira and Yash. They both loved their Ruhaan chachu the most.
It was 4 a.m. and since Ruhaan couldn't sleep he was out in the terrace when he heard music coming from the Mehrotra's. He called Ariyana right away.
