Ariyana's POV
The days after our heated argument felt like a fog. There was no clarity, just a constant pull towards Ruhaan that I couldn't explain. I didn't know what was happening, or why everything felt so heavy. It was as if my heart was at war with my mind, and the battlefield was my own soul.
Ruhaan hadn't tried to force a conversation after that night, but I could feel his presence in every text, every phone call, even in the silence between us. It was almost as if he was waiting for me to come to him, waiting for me to make the first move. But I wasn't ready. Not yet.
I spent most of my time in my room, replaying our words, our arguments, our silences. I wanted him to understand, but part of me feared that maybe I didn't even understand myself.
And then, one evening, the knock on my door came. Soft but insistent. I knew it was him before I even opened it.
Ruhaan stood there, his eyes soft but filled with a quiet intensity. He looked as if he hadn't slept in days, and something about that broke me. I opened the door wider, stepping aside to let him in.
"Can we talk?" he asked, his voice calm but with an undercurrent of something I couldn't place.
I nodded, my heart racing, but I didn't say anything. I didn't trust myself to speak just yet.
Third Person POV
Ruhaan closed the door behind him gently, his eyes never leaving Ariyana's as she stood across from him. The room was filled with the soft hum of the evening, the only light coming from the dim bedside lamp. Ariyana looked fragile in the soft glow, her eyes tired but still full of emotion.
"Ari, I'm sorry for pushing you," Ruhaan began, his voice low, his tone filled with a sincerity that Ariyana hadn't heard in days. "I just... I want to be there for you, but I know I've been too much."
Ariyana crossed her arms over her chest, her gaze dropping to the floor. "You're not the problem, Ruhaan. It's me. I don't know how to handle... this. All of this."
Ruhaan took a step forward, but she backed up slightly, instinctively, as if afraid of the closeness. He stopped, giving her space. "Ariyana, I want to understand you, everything you're feeling. I want to be the one who's there when you need someone."
His words softened the edges of her heart, but fear still lingered. She looked up at him, her breath caught in her throat.
"I don't know if I'm ready for this," she whispered.
Ruhaan's POV
Her words struck him hard, more than anything she had said before. He took another step toward her, his voice breaking through the tension that hung between them.
"I know. I understand that you're not ready. But I can't stand the thought of you going through this alone, not when I can be here. I'm not asking you for anything more than what you're willing to give."
His heart raced as he watched her struggle with her emotions, knowing this wasn't just about their relationship anymore. It was about her trust, her fear of losing herself to something—someone—that she wasn't sure she was ready for.
Ruhaan reached out gently, his hand brushing her arm lightly. "Ariyana..."
She looked up at him, her eyes filled with unshed tears. The vulnerability in her gaze was overwhelming. Without thinking, he cupped her face, his thumb gently tracing her cheek as he moved closer, needing to feel her presence, needing to close the distance between them that had grown so much over the past few days.
Ariyana's breath caught in her throat as she leaned into his touch, her eyes fluttering closed. There was something about his presence, his warmth, that made everything feel safe, even though her heart was still in turmoil.
Ruhaan slowly, carefully, pulled her closer, their bodies inches apart. The air between them was thick with unspoken words, but none of them seemed important anymore. It was just them—together, in this moment, understanding each other without needing to say a thing.
Ariyana's hands trembled as they found his chest, her fingers brushing against the fabric of his shirt. Her voice was barely a whisper when she spoke.
"Ruhaan... I'm scared."
He leaned in closer, his forehead resting gently against hers. "I know. But I'm here. I'm not going anywhere."
And then, with the kind of certainty that neither of them had felt before, he kissed her. It wasn't urgent, it wasn't desperate. It was tender—slow, deliberate, and full of everything they hadn't said yet.
Ariyana responded immediately, her hands pulling him closer, her body pressing against his as if she couldn't get close enough. The kiss deepened, growing more intense as they both surrendered to the moment, the emotions they had been holding back flooding through them.
Ariyana's POV
Ruhaan's kiss was everything she had been trying to resist. It was everything she had been denying herself—intimacy, vulnerability, closeness. It felt right, more right than anything else she had experienced. The moment their lips met, it was as if a floodgate had opened, and she was no longer afraid to drown in it.
His hands slid down her back, pulling her flush against him, as if he were trying to memorize every inch of her. She could feel his heartbeat, rapid and wild, matching her own.
She wasn't sure when the kiss became more than just a kiss, when it turned into something deeper, something that made her feel as though she were losing herself in him. His hands found the zipper of her jacket, gently pulling it down. Her body shivered under his touch, but it wasn't from the cold. It was from the way his fingertips burned into her skin, leaving trails of warmth wherever they touched.
Ruhaan's POV
He was losing himself in her—the softness of her skin, the way she responded to him, the way she seemed to trust him even when she couldn't trust herself. As his hands slid over her, Ruhaan knew that this was more than just a moment of passion. This was about vulnerability—letting go of all their fears and doubts.
His lips moved to her neck, kissing her softly, each kiss deeper than the last. He felt her breath hitch in her throat, and it made him want to savor every second of this closeness.
"Ariyana..." he whispered between kisses. "I don't want to rush this, but I can't stop myself. I need you."
Her hands tangled in his hair, pulling him closer, her body arching towards his as if she were drawn to him by some magnetic force. "I need you too, Ruhaan," she whispered back, her voice a mixture of surrender and desire.
And then, with an unspoken understanding, they moved together. Every touch, every kiss, every breath was a promise. A promise that, no matter what came next, they would never let go of each other. Not again.
Third Person POV
In that moment, there was no past, no future. There was only them—two souls intertwining, finding solace in each other, letting their vulnerabilities come to the surface.
As the night stretched on, the world outside seemed distant, forgotten. They had each other now, and for the first time in a long while, both Ariyana and Ruhaan felt the weight of the world lift, if only for a few hours.
It was more than just intimacy. It was a connection—a promise that whatever doubts they had, whatever challenges lay ahead, they would face it together.
