Sheik had always been an awkward child, moving about silently, hiding from the other kids, and especially his skill in tinkering.

But where he struggled.

Social interaction.

Sheik had always wanted to be on his own, away from the other kids, seemingly to tinker, and find pokemon.

And that's how he came to find his first pokemon.

Let's show that, shall we?

Sheik, by usual had run off into the land of Paldea, only to come across a weird pokemon.

It was white in color, but had dark (or was that normal?) Purple fur near its claws, and mouth.

In short, it looked like a sneasel, but if it was accustomed to high mountains, instead of normal snowy areas.

But besides that, it was injured, and was being attacked by a few Houndour.

I pick up a medium size stick and rush at the Houndour.

I swing, which drives them away, expect one, which bites the stick.

I swing the stick down, and the Houndour slams into the ground.

The small group (About 4) of Houndours come rushing back.

"Back!" I puff up my body as much as I can, and yell, scaring the houndour away.

I turn back to the weird sneasel and drop to my knees next to it, slinging my pack from my shoulder, and take out a potion.

"Hey little buddy. Ima try to help you, but this'll sting, so I'm warning you."

It nods, and barely flinches when I spray it's injury with the potion.

As I finish spraying the injuries, I take out the pokedex I got over Ceusmas.

I blink in confusion.

"So you're even more special then I thought."

I dig around in my pack before pulling out a couple Sitrus berries.

"Hey buddy." The weird sneasel looks towards me holding the berry's.

It blurred towards me, snatching the berry's before turning.

"You know I was gonna give them to you? You didn't need to do that."

The sneasel looked down at the berry, before passing the uneaten one to me.

I chuckle.

"Nah, I was giving them to you. You can keep it." I say, passing the berry back to the weird sneasel.

'Now whether to catch them or let them free.'

"Snea!" I look back towards the sneasel, who had ate both berry's in a matter of seconds.

I take out a pokeball, enlargen it, and put it on the ground.

"Wanna become my partner?"

The weird sneasel Tilted it's head, seemingly in confusion.

"Becoming one's partner typically means you get shelter, food, water, and a chance to grow stronger, in exchange for typically battling for whoever caught the pokemon."

It punched the pokeball, getting sucked in.

It rolled three times before-
