I groaned softly as I rolled over in my bed, I'd had a really bad breakup this past week and I got hurt pretty bad... and then the bastard was too much of a coward to turn himself in for hurting me so I was sitting here, at home, alone, and in a lot of pain.

I slowly eased myself out of bed and went over to the mirror, I had bruises on my neck and collarbone from where he grabbed me, I had cuts and scrapes all over my back and sides and bruises around my wrists and ankles from where he tied me up... He said that if I ever told anyone about it he would kill me, and I believed him, I could see the violence in his eyes.

I turned away and limped into the shower, trying to make my muscles relax, trying to wash the memories away, I let the warm water cascade down my skin and watched it turn pink as it washed over my cuts, I hissed in pain as the water hit them but stayed there anyway, letting it clean my wounds, I finally stepped out and looked at my back, wincing when I saw how bruised it was.

I pulled on some loose clothing, sweatpants, and a tank top, and headed down to the kitchen, I didn't really have much in the way of food so I grabbed the only thing left in the house, a cup of instant noodles and some water, I set them on the stove and leaned against the counter.

I waited until they were done and turned off the heat, picking up the cup and heading to the living room, I sat down and started eating, watching the news. It was talking about how the Monsters from the Underground had recently re-emerged... I lived in Ebbot City, I always knew they existed but it was still kind-of surprising that they'd ever come back...

The newscaster went on to say that they were currently under the care of Dr. Alphys and King Asgore Dreemurr and the human ambassador, Frisk Dreemurr. Something about that made my heart skip a beat, my younger sisters name was Frisk and she had gone missing about 2 years ago... Hearing her name...? It set off sparks in my mind, that and I wasn't sure why but the thought of meeting one of the Monsters made my skin tingle with anticipation, I wanted to meet them, I wanted to see if they were as bad as the history books say.

I finished eating and got up, walking over to the kitchen and putting the cup in the sink, I heard a knock on the door and froze, I didn't want to open the door, I didn't want to see him again, what if he came back...? What if he had come back for me? I was shaking in fear by the time I got to the door and slowly opened it.

It wasn't him, it was a familiar girl in a blue and purple sweater I'd gotten her years ago standing behind a skeleton in a blue jacket... "Uhm... Is this the residence of Y/n L/n?" He'd asked, and quite frankly I was at a loss of words.

The skeleton had a big goofy grin on his face, he was wearing a white shirt and a blue jacket with black basketball shorts and pink slippers, his eye sockets were a little dark and there were bags under his eye sockets, and the girl... I almost couldn't recognize her, her brown hair was down and slightly ruffled and her bangs were hiding her left eye, she was wearing the same thing she always had, a blue and purple striped sweater and black leggings and brown boots, she was staring up at the skeleton with a smile.

I just stood there and stared, I didn't know what to do, I mean, there were a ton of people who had my name and last name, this could be some kind of mistake... but something told me it wasn't, and I knew that...

"F..Frisk..?" I found myself muttering, tearing up a bit. She nodded and ran at me, hugging me tightly, I stumbled back and held her close.

She was so much taller than she was, was I really that bad a guardian to her that she would run away? No, no I wouldn't believe that, something had happened and she couldn't get back, that had to be it, right?

The skeleton walked into the house and closed the door behind him, I looked at him, confused, and then I looked down at Frisk.

Frisk looked up at me and smiled, pulling back from the hug and tugging the skeleton over.

I couldn't really understand what she was signing, she had been gone for so long and I hadn't had the chance to sign since, she was speaking so fast too...

"Ah, She was introducing you to me. It's nice to meet you, I'm Sans. I've been taking care of her for a while." He said, extending his hand.

I stared at him and his hand for a few minutes before I slowly extended my own and shook his hand, his hand was bony...obviously, and warm.

I looked back at Frisk, smiling, and pulled her into another hug, I was so glad she was okay, I was so relieved, but why was Sans here..?

Frisk signed again, this time slower, and I understood a little better.

Sans had been watching her, protecting her, making sure she was safe and that no harm would come to her, and she said that she had missed me...

I hugged her again, smiling and tearing up. I was just so happy she was okay, that I was able to see her again.

After a while of talking and catching up, Frisk said that she had to leave soon.

Sans and Frisk walked towards the door, and before they left, Frisk had signed to me that they would see me again and then had given me a phone.

I waved goodbye and then closed the door, going up to my room and falling back into bed, I felt a lot better now that I knew Frisk was okay, I knew she was okay and that was good enough for me.

I put the phone on the nightstand and pulled the blanket up, curling up and closing my eyes.
