Olivia turned the door handle, and let herself in. "Mattheo?" She said as she shut the door, now inside the room. Matthew kept his back towards her. "Mattheo, come on.Please talk to me." She pleaded, but no reply.
"Go away.." Mattheo mumbled. "Please, Matt." Olivia begged, her voice broke. Her words broke Mattheos heart, but ironically angered him. "Just fuck off!" He shouted as he sat up to face Olivia. "What?" Olivia said, taken aback. "I said fuck off! Can you not take a hint?! I dont fucking want you!" Mattheo shouted.
Olivia was confused, he loved her a few days ago. What had changed? "Mattheo you're sick you don't know what you're saying." She told him. Mattheo stood up and pinched the bridge of his nose. "I know what I'm saying, Nott." The way he had addressed her gave her the 'hint' she hadn't taken. She stood there, trying to search for any love or any remorse in his eyes. But she was met with a cold gaze.
"So you're fine with throwing everything away, yeah?" Olivia said, "You're fine with never talking to me again? Because that's what will happen , Riddle. I'm not going to be there when you need me. I will never darken your doorstep again. You're never going to hold me again, it all depends on what you say now." Olivia tells him, surprisingly confident.
Mattheo looks in her eyes, his heavy breathing reached her, sharing a scent of alcohol. Mattheo opened his mouth to talk, "I'm serious. I will never do this again." Olivia reminds him. "Good." Mattheo said. Olivia's gaze hardens, no longer feeling his love. She purses her lips and nods slightly. After she turned and left his dorm, he stayed stood for a minute looking at his door. He then sighed and laid in bed once more.
When Olivia reached her dorm she began working on her homework and when that was finished she cleaned up and when that was finished she went to the common room. "Hi." She says as she sits on the couch. "Are you okay?" Theo said. "Yes..? Why?"Olivia said, Theo sighs. "I mean I know you and Mattheo haven't talked.." Theo was cut off. "We broke up." Olivia said, Theo widened his eyes.
Theo knew Olivia was stubborn, so he knew she loved Mattheo truly. He could tell that her cold act was all fake, and that she really was upset but he also knew that she won't be the first to apologise.
"Oh." Theo said. Olivia nodded and pursed her lips. The silence went on between the two and as the stood up to leave Theo pulled her into a hug. Olivia was confused but she knew that he knew. As she leaned into the hug she felt as if nothing around her was real anymore, including her emotions. Tears flooded her eyes as he held her. "It's okay." Theo told her and rubbed her back.
"I really loved him Theo." She sobbed. His heart broke for her every time she cried. Theodore felt great empathy for his sister. "I have an idea." Theo told her. "Get your skates and meet me by the purple tree." He said, Olivia smiled and wiped her face.
When Olivia and Theo met once again at the 'purple tree' they sat on the cold and frosty leaves to tie their skates up. The 'purple tree' was a tree by the black lake, where Theo and Olivia go to for comfort. It is called that because the leaves always had a hint of purple, it's also where Olivia learnt that Theo's favourite colour was purple.
Theo stepped onto the ice first, moving slowly to search for thin patches to avoid. As it went on and he could clearly skate freely, Olivia stepped on to join him. The two twirled and glided with the scraping noice of the blade dragging along the ice. The absence of vocals was comforting to Olivia, so Theo tried hard not to break it.
It felt like a cycle to Olivia, as if nothing will stay put and it always has to change. She knew Mattheo was the one she wanted to be with forever, but at what cost? She ruins herself thinking about it.
Weeks went by, no words were exchanged. Only brief glances from both of them. Olivia's grades skyrocketed and her body matured. She was glowing, her hair was healthy and long and she grew into her curves, giving her uniform a nice shape. Her social circle grew so she didn't feel the need to depend on Theo's friends as much as she did before.
Olivia walked into the common room to show Astoria a painting she found something interesting on, catching the groups attention. Mattheos eyes followed Olivia. "Mate just apologise." Draco said. "I cant. This is my doing." Mattheo told them. Theo nodded. "I don't like her? Why does it affect any of you." Mattheo said. Theo slammed his hands on the table and stormed out with white knuckles as he pulled a cigarette out of a carton. Mattheo sighed. "Just stop fucking talking about her.I don't want anything to do with that slag." Mattheo said, his own words pierced his heart.
It seemed to pierce something else. Olivia's eyes fell on Mattheos, confused because she though there was no bad blood. Only tension. It seemed to her that those glances were actual mistakes and not him trying to get a look at her. Draco sneered at Mattheo, along with Blaise. "Right." Draco said as he stepped off the couch and left. Blaise scoffed and followed.
"Slag?" Olivia said, seeming to have teleported to behind the couch that lays opposite the boy.Olivia scoffed and pushed her tongue to the inside of her cheek. "There's better than that come on." Olivia said. "Just fuck off." Mattheo told her. "I'd love to." Olivia left immediately, Astoria followed behind her.
"God I hate him." Olivia said, storming through the halls. "No you don't." Astoria said. "I think you should though because he is a prick." Astoria said. Olivia groaned as they came to a stop. "I just wish I knew what I did wrong." Olivia said. "I wish he felt bad. Like I know I act like I don't care but I actually do. I wish he cared aswell." Olivia said. Astoria furrowed her brows. "Maybe he does care?" Astoria says.
