This chapter and the next is probably going to be rewritten or heavily edited as it a lot of it doesn't really reflect the plans I have for the future chapters. You can enjoy this chapter for now, just know it isn't the full, authentic version.

You might be wondering, why? Why are you uploading this if you're not even finished? Well, at the time of writing this message, I haven't uploaded a chapter this year at all and I don't want to make it seem like I don't care about my stories.

Which is the opposite.

Also, the plot and lore around this story is completely different from I first made it – if you've seen it.
————————-

Long ago, two races ruled the world: Humans and monsters.

One day, a war broke out between the two races.

After a long battle, the humans were victorious and sealed the monsters away with a magic spell.

Many years later...

Legends say that those who climb the mountain never return.

A human, short with a comparable bow cut and a striped t-shirt glanced at the hole that was — the Underground.

Suddenly, their foot was caught in a vine, causing them to fall into the hole.

After the fall they landed face first onto the ground — unconscious.

...

*SLASH!*

"Agh...!"

A human, short with a comparable bow cut and a blue and purple striped t-shirt along with similar colored pants and brown shoes was suddenly launched back.

A sword slash had whipped through the air. In the distance, a figure held a flaming sword in their hand. It lit up some of their being.

Suddenly, the figure's eyes flashed a blue and orange.

The human, on their knees, craned their head up. Their eyes dilated.

In front of them, a small flaming sword was suddenly launched at them.

They leaped away, but as they were in the air, someone had appeared above them and swiped their sword down.

"...!"

Tilting their head up, they reactively pulled out a twig in a futile attempt to block the slash.

The sword — unsurprisingly, sliced through the twig and hit the human, cutting their t-shirt and causing a deep laceration in the direction of the slash.

They crashed to the ground, tumbling. They drew heavy breaths as the wound began to bleed. Small smoke began to fume from the wound, putting hand to it, the human tried to cover what area they could.

Coughing from the smoke, they grit their teeth, closing their eyes as their body trembled.

The figure began to approach them. The sword in their hand dissipated into a fiery ash, their steps crunched into the snow as they walked.
