The Rescue

Moonhunter POV

It's been two weeks since I was found by Leo and his brothers. I've looked for Nightstalker nonstop, but I haven't been able to find her. I was currently in a corner in the dojo meditating. A shadow passed behind my eyelids and I opened my eyes. Leo's father, Splinter, was standing over me. "What is troubling you?" He asked.

I glanced at the floor. "I'm scared," I answer. "I've looked everywhere for Night, but I can't find her anywhere." Splinter sits on his knees next to me. "You must not give up hope," he said. "If your bond is truly strong, you will find her." I slumped down. I knew he was trying to make me feel better, but I was starting to lose hope of finding her. I felt my eyes get watery. I couldn't lose Night too.

Leo walked into the dojo. "You alright, Moon?" He asked. He'd taken to calling me by my nickname. I shook my head. He sat down on my other side. "We WILL find her. We won't stop looking," he said. I smiled a little. He was so nice. "It'll be our birthday soon," I said quietly, almost matter-of-factly. "Really?" Leo asked. I nodded. "What would you guys do on your birthday?" Leo asked. I knew he was just trying to distract me, but it was a kind gesture.

"We'd sing together mostly," I replied.
"Wait, singing?" A voice asked. I turned. It was Raph, the red-banded turtle. He hadn't talked to me much while I was here. "Yes?" I said questioningly. Where was he going with this? "Does your sister, by any chance, happen to have a great singing voice?" He asked. My eyes started to widen, was he saying...? "Raph, what...? Leo started. "Yes. Yes, she does," I answered, interrupting Leo. Raph's eyes widened a little too. "I might know where she is," he said. "What?!" I practically shrieked, bolting up. "You found her?!" "Hey, I said 'MAYBE'," Raph answered. "Where?!" I asked frantically. "On top of a random, abandoned apartment building," he said. "Let's go," Leo said, jumping up. I scrambled to the entrance to the lair and through the tunnels, Leo and his brother close behind me.

3rd Person POV

They sprinted over the rooftops. Moonhunter couldn't fly, someone would see, but she used her wings to help her glide from roof edge to roof edge. Raph led them in the direction of the apartment that he heard the voice from. They reached the cluster of apartment's rooftops and looked around. "The voice came from one of these chimneys," Raph said. "You sure, Raph?" Leo asked. "I know what I heard, Leo," Raph replied, annoyed. Moon walked to the side of the rooftop, near one of the chimneys and placed her palm on side. "You were right, Raph," she said. "She's here, she's alive." Tears pricked at Moon's eyes. Her sister was alive!

"How do you know?" Leo asked. "Twin dragonexes can sense each other's presence," Moon replied. "I can feel her. She's in here," She gestured to the fire escape of one of the abandoned apartments. They quietly jumped onto the fire escape and peered through the window. "I don't see anything. We have to go in," Leo said. They quietly slid open the window and jumped through. The room was empty, save for 3 metal chairs and and couple of test tubes that were filled with red liquid. Moon had a bad feeling she knew exactly what was in those test tubes.

They exited the room and crept carefully found the hall to the stairway. "Down here," Moon said, starting down the stairs. They crept all the way down to the basement. When they got there, they gasped. It was a full testing room. There was a chair with leather straps on the armrests. Needles and test tubes on the desks. A tray full of, what looked like, surgery tools. The turtles shuddered. This place was terrifying. Leo glanced at Moon, she was shaking a little. She must have been imprisoned here before. He took her hand and squeezed it. She glanced at him and smiled gratefully.

They all searched the room, looking for anything that might lead them to Night. Moon could feel her sisters presence in the room. So where was she? She opened a desk drawer and leafed through it, finding a key. She cocked her head at it. What did it open? She continued looking around the room. She moved a cabinet and came across a hidden door. She placed her palm on the door and closed her eyes. She could feel her sister behind the door. She was here! "Guys, I found her!" She said. The turtles rushed over and saw the door. "I'll get her, you find a way back to the stairwell," Moon said. They nodded and left the room, looking for the way out. Moon carefully opened the door and peered inside. It was a small room with one cage inside. And inside that cage was Nightstalker.

"Night!" Moon cried, rushing to the cage. "Moon?!" Night replied standing up, quickly. "Oh thank goodness, you're okay." Moon took the key and tried the lock. It opened. Moon swung the cage door open and Night leapt into her arms.
