~THIRD PERSON P.O.V

An hour later, the second event was starting. Photo Finish took pictures as she stood by the stands, where CHS and Crystal Prep were seated. Principal Cinch walked through the Principal's box, sitting between Principal Cadance and Dean Cadance.

Dean Cadance got up, holding the microphone. "Welcome, everyone to the Friendship Games Tricross Relay!" she announced, causing the crowd to cheer. Galaxy clapped and cheered while she sat alongside the CMC. "In this event, our qualifying competitors will face off in archery, speed skating, and finally, motocross," Dean Cadance continued, motioning to Applejack, Fluttershy, Sour Sweet, and Twilight at Archery. Lemon Zest, Sunny Flare, Pinkie, and Rarity at Speed Skating. And Sunset, Rainbow, Flash, Dark Moon, Sugarcoat, and Indigo Zap on Motocross. "So if the competitors are ready..." she trailed off, blowing the air horn. 

Sour Sweet and Fluttershy started the course off while Twilight and Applejack got into position. "Each competitor must hit a bullseye before their teammates can start the next leg of the relay," Dean Cadance explained as Sour Sweet skillfully jumped over the haybales while Fluttershy carefully slipped over them.

Sour Sweet grabbed a quiver full of arrows, leaping across a sand pit using a rope. She landed in a roll, grabbed the arrow and three arrows, and shot them. They all hit the target but one got a bullseye.

Crystal Prep cheered as she smiled smugly. At the same time, Fluttershy grabbed her quiver. Twilight and Applejack exchanged a look before Twilight started to head over to the platform.

Fluttershy tried to shoot an arrow, but it slipped right out of her bow. She reached into her quiver to grab another. Twilight tried to jump over a haybale, but she tripped and landed face-first onto the ground.

Sour Sweet growled in annoyance, looking over to see Fluttershy shooting her second arrow, getting close to her moving target. Twilight grabbed her quiver and tried to swing across the sand pit, but barely hung on to the platform by her foot. Sour Sweet looked like she was about to explode out of annoyance.

Fluttershy held her breath and looked away, shooting the arrow and it hit the centre of the moving target. She opened her eyes when she heard CHS cheering, looking back and giving a thumbs up to Applejack.

The cowgirl started heading forward, getting to the platform as Twilight managed to get onto the platform. Applejack picked up the bow and shot an arrow, hitting the target but not in the middle. She smiled when Fluttershy clapped.

Twilight held up her bow and shot an arrow, but it just missed the target. She paused when she heard Sour Sweet growl behind her.

Applejack glanced over to them before taking a deep breath, looking back at her moving target. She breathed out and released the arrow. Luckily, it managed to hit the target, signalling that Pinkie and Rarity could start their laps.

"And Canterlot is off to an early lead!" Dean Cadance commented as she watched Pinkie and Rarity go past her box. 

Twilight kept shooting arrows, but all of them kept missing the target by a lot. Her legs shook as she shot another arrow, and it barely hit it. And then the arrow broke when the target went around again.

Sour Sweet spotted Pinkie and Rarity going past her. "Well, that's just fantastic!" she sourly yelled at the girl.

Twilight glanced over to Fluttershy and Applejack, to see the former looking at Fluttershy and the latter playing with her hair. "I'm sure glad I don't go to Crystal Prep," Fluttershy mumbled.

"You said it," Applejack agreed.

"Whee!" Pinkie cheered as she and Rairty started their second lap.
