~DARK MOON P.O.V

At Crystal Prep, the school bell rings. Twilight and I held our books in our arms, watching the students either talk in the middle of the hallway, looking through their lockers, or just walking through the hallway.

Twilight adjusted her glasses, taking a deep breath. She started walking through the hallway, passing by students who glared at her. "Excuse me. Sorry. Pardon me," she apologized.

I glared at everyone, walking through the path. Once students noticed me walking down the hallway, they stepped aside to let me pass. As I walked I noticed someone familiar looking staring at me.

I smiled, waving toward her. "Hey, Fleur," I greeted, causing her to giggle and wave back.

Quickly catching up to Twilight, she opened the door to her lab and we walked inside, seeing Spike being sent across the room by the door. "Spike? Spike?!" Twilight called as she sat down.

I closed the door behind us as Spike popped his head out, barking. He ran over to us, leaping onto the desk.

Laughing, I pet his head while I leaned against the desk. "There you are,"

Spike leapt onto Twilight's lap, licking her face. Twilight giggled. "Okay, okay!" she cried while he made himself comfortable onto her lap. She pulled her newest device out of a drawer. "Last night's field test confirmed it, Spike. With this device, we can track and contain the bizarre energy coming from Canterlot High,"

Spike growled in response. "I know you didn't like us going over there, Spike. But we just couldn't wait. And soon, Twilight will have all the time she needs. All of Crystal Prep is gonna be there for the Friendship Games, which means I'll be going too since I kinda have no choice," I reasoned, rolling my eyes when remembering the Friendship Games.

Honestly, it was quite a stupid name since those games weren't about Friendship at all.

Twilight nodded with a small smile, setting Spike back down on the floor and pushing herself over to the other desk that had the second computer. "I just hope all that 'rivalry' nonsense doesn't get in the way of my research. And I can't thank you enough for helping with this, Storm. If I can collect enough data on these EM frequencies, I should be able to extrapolate the waveforms to determine their origin. That would practically guarantee my entrance into the Everton Independent Study Program!" she gushed, leaning back in her seat but falling to the ground. "Whoa!"

My eyes widened, and I went over to help her. "Twilight, are you okay?"

Suddenly, someone knocked on the door before opening it, revealing the Dean, Candance. She smiled when she spotted me. "Dark Moon, hello," she greeted.

"Hello Dean Cadance. Please, how many times have I told you? Just call me Storm," I insisted, greeting her back.

Her gaze turned to Twilight, who was still on the ground while Spike was licking her forehead. "Twilight, you know the rules against pets," Candance stated as she helped Twilight up.

"Well, Spike isn't a pet, Dean Cadance. He's the focus of my research project. Human-canine cohabitation: effects and implications," Twilight lied, picking up Spiker with a small smile.

"That's why I'm helping her so much. Because two sources will get more information," I added, helping build on top of the lie to be more believable.

"If you say so. But Storm's mother, Principal Cinch, is highly allergic, so I suggest you two put on a clean shirt," Cadance stated, taking a hair off mine and Twilight's shirt.

"I know that," I crossed my arms, rolling my eyes.

"Why?" Twilight asked, confused, setting Spike back down on the ground.
