A/n: one shot featuring my oc Easton as well as the humans he previously befriended before going to work on Earth, pov of one of said humans, Larissa. Chronologically set a couple of years before the main story

"Easton, are you okay?" Kyle asked.
The giant stumbled into the wall, barely managing to hold himself up as he pushed the door shut behind him.
"'M fine," Easton said. "Rob...spiked the lemonade. I didn't know. I'm sorry. Wasn't trying to get drunk."
Ruby raised an eyebrow. "Rob did what? That's kind of fucked up."
"I know." He shrugged, managing to fall into a clumsy sitting position while doing so. He attempted to get back up.
"Maybe you should stay sitting," I suggested, exchanging a glance with Ruby and Kyle. I gathered that they were also not thrilled with Easton being more than a little drunk.
This is just great, I thought sarcastically. He was easily a dozen times taller than us, a fact which was intimidating at the best of times. That made it a little...less than ideal that he currently was having trouble standing.
Let alone thinking clearly, I thought.
"Okay," Easton said. Well, at least he still seemed as agreeable as usual.
"We should probably get him into bed," Ruby said after a moment. She turned back to the giant, who was sitting on the floor with his head leaned against the wall, half out of it.
"E, you shouldn't sleep on the floor. C'mon, do you think you can get up to your bed?" She asked.
"Dunno," Easton mumbled. After a moment, he nodded.
"I think so," he said, attempting to slowly pull himself back to his feet. Easton flopped down onto his bed a few moments later, shaking the table slightly. I winced - he wasn't usually that careless.
"'M sorry," Easton said, breaking the silence. "I wasn't planning on drinking...not responsible. Do you hate me? Please don't hate me."
"We don't hate you," Ruby said.
"I don't want anyone to hate me," Easton replied. He paused, frowning. "My dad hates me."
"Maybe you should just get some sleep," I suggested.
Easton shook his head. "I don't want to...nightmares. My sister hates me too. Whole family, I guess."
"I'm sure your whole family doesn't hate you," Kyle said.
"Mm, I dunno," Easton replied. "I think they do. Are you sure you don't hate me?"
"Why would we hate you? You literally saved our lives and you go out of your way to take care of us literally constantly," I pointed out.
"But you're trapped with me. I'm sorry," Easton said.
"There's way worse people we could be trapped with," I said, giving a small shrug.
"Yeah, like the asshole who gave you spiked lemonade. I feel like we shouldn't gloss over that," Ruby said.
"He just meant it as a prank..." Easton mumbled.
"Pranks should be funny," Ruby said, in a tone that left little room for argument. "What if you had to drive? Or were on medication that reacts with alcohol or something?"
"Oh, I am," Easton said. Ruby looked at him incredulously.
"I mean, it just...more effects, more black outs," Easton said.
"Yeah, that was seriously fucked up of Rob," Ruby muttered.
"I'm sorry."
"I'm not mad at you," Ruby said. Easton pulled himself up into a seated position, leaning against the wall next to his bed.
"Sorry," he mumbled. "Fuck, your dinner-I'll go get it." At least, I was decently sure that's what he said. I didn't have an incredibly long time to consider it, as Easton moved to get up and once again hit into the table. The sudden jolt knocked her off my feet, and my mind instantly flashed back to the other time this had happened - I'd almost fallen to her death. And I would have, had it not been for Easton's quick thinking. This time I was both more and less fortunate. I fell off the side, instead "merely" dropping 10 or so feet onto Easton's lap. I made a noise somewhat akin to a gasp as the breath was knocked out of my upon impact. The giant's eyes widened.
"Are you okay?" He asked immediately, his face going pale.
I managed a nod, drawing in a deep breath as i tried to struggle up. That was easier said than done on the soft surface that was Easton's thigh. I winced as I did so. The fall might not have been fatal, but I guessed it was going to leave at least a few bruises.
"I'm so sorry," Easton said.
"It's fine, E," I said, wincing as she pulled herself up. "No blood, no foul."
I looked up at the desk, and Ruby and Kyle. I couldn't climb back up by myself, that much was obvious. I cursed under my breath. Generally, I wouldn't have had second thoughts about asking Easton to pick me up. Given that he had practically fallen into bed moments ago, though, I felt less than comfortable with that concept. Of course, my current position wasn't that much better. A fact I was reminded of when Easton shifted his weight slightly, causing me to lose my balance again. My hands shot out to catch myself on reflex as I landed in the slight dip where his legs were pressed together.
"Easton!"
"Shit. I'm so sorry." Easton said hurriedly. "I just forgot-"

I took a steadying breath. "Can you help me back up to the table? And just be, really, really careful?"

Easton nodded. "Yeah. I'm really so sorry, here." He lowered his hand down to me. I hesitated a moment before climbing on. I felt relief wash over me as he did, in fact, raise his hand carefully, setting it softly on the table. I climbed off, looking back at him.
"Thanks," I said. "You really should try to get some sleep."
