"Good morning, Margie," Bethany Rockwell greeted Meg as she sat at the dining table.
"Hi, Mom," Meg responded, playfully rolling her eyes at the nickname. "What's for breakfast?"
"I made you eggs and waffles. Is that ok?" Beth inquired, placing the plates down in front of Meg.
"Sounds perfect, thanks Mom," Meg responded with a smile as she grabbed her knife.
"Is your sister up yet?" Beth asked, washing her hands and setting down her dish towel.
Meg shrugged. "How am I supposed to know?"
Beth sighed as she yelled, "Annalise! You're going to be late for school." Her words echoed through the large house as Meg winced at the noise, focusing back on her breakfast.
Margaret Carmen Rockwell had a perfectly normal life. She had two living parents, a younger sister, and two dogs.
Meg was born on February 6th, she was a perfectly timed pregnancy and was born exactly on her scheduled date. Even since her birth, Meg was perfect.
Annalise, on the other hand, was not.
"Whatever, Mom!" Annalise yelled back, slamming her door and stomping down the stairs.
"Good morning, Lisie," Meg teased, giving Annalise a shit-eating grin.
"Yeah, whatever, Carmie," Annalise mocked back, mirroring Meg's smile.
Meg rolled her eyes as she finished her breakfast, placing her dishes in the sink and running back upstairs to check her laptop for any updates on her internship. She chewed her lip as she checked her inbox for any new emails.
Meg was interning at a famous biotech company, where she shadowed all of the world's best biochemical and medical engineers. Currently, she was working on a metabolic engineering project she hoped to complete in the next month or so. If she was successful, she would almost be promised a job there once she finished her internship in a year.
"Carmie, hurry up! Mom says you have to drive me to school!" Annalise yelled from the foyer as Meg shut her computer and shoved it in her backpack with a couple of textbooks and folders strewn around her room.
"Ok, Anna, I'm coming!" Meg yelled back, tossing her bag over one shoulder and grabbing her car keys off her dresser.
Meg pulled on her high tops and laced them quickly, shouting a quick goodbye to her mom as she shut the back door.
Meg unlocked the door to her new Range Rover that her parents bought her two months ago to celebrate her license. She tossed her bag in the backseat as Annalise hopped in the passenger's seat, taking off her shoes and crossing her legs.
"Hey! Put your feet down, the leather's new," Meg scolded her sister, swatting her hand as she closed her door.
Annalise rolled her eyes. "Oh no! My new leather seats!" Annalise mocked.
Meg sighed as she put the car in reverse, backing out of her driveway.

"Get out," Meg instructed as she parked her car in the junior's lot. Annalise grumbled as she put her shoes back on, opened her door, and grabbed her bag.
"Love you too!" Meg called after her sister, who had already begun walking towards the school entrance. Meg smiled as she grabbed her backpack, locking her car door.
"Hey! Look out!" Meg heard a call from behind her. She quickly spun her head around to see a tall boy running towards her. Meg gave a confused look until she was met with a smack to her head.
