"I carry Bella's unconscious form into my home, my heart racing with worry. I gently lay her on the couch and call for a doctor to come and check her out.As I wait for the doctor to arrive, I head to my daughter's room to check on her. But what I see makes my blood boil. My ex wife Maria was busy packing my daughter's bags, her eyes flashing with anger.
'What are you doing?' I demand, my voice low and even.
'I'm taking our daughter away from this toxic environment,' she spits, her eyes flicking to Bella on the couch. 'You brought another woman into our home, Leo. Another woman who's clearly troubled.'
I shake my head, my anger rising. 'You're not taking her anywhere, Maria. I have full custody of our daughter, and I'll fight to keep it that way.'
Rachel sneers. 'You think you can take care of her on your own? You're a single father, Leo. You can't provide the stability she needs.'
I take a step closer, my eyes blazing. 'I can provide a better life for her than you ever could, Rachel. And after what you tried to do to her...'
I can't even finish the sentence. The memory of Rachel's attempt to harm our daughter is still too raw.
'I'll get full custody of Anastasia. And I'll make sure you never come near our daughter again.'"
"Rachel's eyes narrow, her face twisting with anger. 'You'll never be able to prove that, Leo. I'll make sure of it.'
I smile, a cold smile. 'I don't need to prove it, Rachel. I have witnesses, and I have evidence. You're not going to manipulate your way out of this one.'
The doctor arrives, and I turn my attention to Bella, who is starting to stir. I go to her side, holding her hand as she opens her eyes.
'Hey, Bella. How are you feeling?' I ask, my voice soft.
She looks up at me, her eyes confused. 'Leo? What happened?'
I squeeze her hand. 'You're safe now. You're in my home. I won't let anyone hurt you again.'
The doctor starts to examine her, and I watch as Bella's eyes fill with tears. I know she's been through something traumatic with that lunatic, and I'm determined to help her through it.
As the doctor finishes up and leaves, I turn to Rachel. 'You need to leave. Now.'
Rachel's eyes flash with anger, but she knows she's beat. She storms out of the house, leaving me to tend to Bella's wounds.
I sit down beside her, holding her close. 'You're safe now, Bella. I promise.'
My daughter then asks me " Daddy what happened to Bells"
I pull my little princess close"Don't worry baby, Bells will be here with us from now on, but I want you to do something for me?"
My daughter's face lighted up at the sound of that and she nodded estaticly at my request
"Okay so you would look after Bells the same way she looks after you and call me once anything goes wrong? Okay?" I asked her she happily said "yes daddy anything for my Bells, but Daddy what if that awful woman shows up again?" She asked referring to her mother and my ex wife
"Don't worry baby, Daddy's got you ehh" I told her before proceddi g to tickle her and she laughed her heart out, which suited my heart
Seeing my baby happy is the best thing that could ever happen to meISA'S POV
"I slowly open my eyes, groggily taking in my surroundings. I'm in a beautiful bedroom, with soft sunlight streaming through the windows. But it's not the room that catches my attention - it's the man sitting beside me, holding my hand.
